@Pete: Woops, it worked for me. Briefly. Funny that we posted the same game though, and yeah, I do remember playing Superman. I was rather young

@booboo: operative word being "multiplayer"

@james: oh yeah, I've heard about ET as well. Never played it

He's already covered many of the most notoriously sh*tty games but one he has avoided like the plague is ET.

I haven't played it either, I have an Atari 2600 emulator so maybe one day when I have way too much free time on my hands.

Have you played Silver Surfer???!!!

In my defense, I got the game in a Bullfrog games bundle with no instructions(along with other ****ty games with a similar concept as Populous...the only half decent game was this one called Syndicate)...and I was like 5. Every few months I would decide to load that thing up and try to figure it out, but I could never get it.

It's a god game, probably the game that invented that whole genre. Basically you play some kind of deity and you guild a budding civilization and help it grow. Pretty straightforward premise really.

It's no Sim City, but it's an enjoyable game if you like sims (I do) and it's also worth checking out at least once for it's historical significance.

Holy mother of f*cking god yes.

Hardest game ever, at least the hardest that isn't really broken.

What about Ninja Gaiden? Never played them, but they're notorious for being ridiculously hard

It's probably my favourite video of his.

The Ninja Gaiden games are hard but unlike Silver Surfer they are beatable, and they're great games regardless. Enemies respawn like mad and you fall back Simon Belmont style which is annoying, but if you can't handle that then you're just not man enough for the NES I say. They're very fun, well designed games with enough to keep you playing no matter how much they wipe the floor with you. Great music too, and surprisingly intriguing storylines and impressive anime style cut scenes, by NES standards anyway. One of the best game trilogies.

Also my favorite AVGN vid is either the Silver Surfer one or the Dick Tracy one, that one is very long but the way his anger just builds and builds is great.

Hah, I love Ninja Gaiden. I actually beat Master Ninja mode on NG2 and that was the hardest **** I've ever done. They're brilliant games though.

As for worst game I've ever played. Easily this:

I haven't played that but man I've heard some horrible things about it.

The worst Sonic game I have played though is Sonic Labyrinth for the Game Gear. You won't believe how goddamn bad that game is until you try it, I can't describe it as anything other than torture.

For your sanity's sake, keep it that way. Even if you see it in a store used for $0.01, don't buy it, that penny could be used for better things like 1 M&M at the penny candy section of a candy shop.

I've never played Sonic Labyrinth, and from what you say, I should probably keep it that way.

It's too bad, I remember Sonic Adventure 2 (GC) being quite a fun game.
