Fixed!

I'm a little surprised more people didn't vote. I was sure many have seen both films. My vote goes unquestionably to Romper Stomper. It's a pretty solid film with a believable insight into one skinhead group. On the other hand, American History X always seemed to me like a typical preachy, melodramatic Oscar bait, especially with all those slow motion shots and alternating b&w and color scenes. So transparent and with subtlety of a sledgehammer. We're constantly beaten over the head with a massage, not to mention a weak handling of the main character's transition. While I usually like Edward Norton, I can't join the universal praise he got for this performance. He just wasn't believable enough as a violent skinhead. For such authenticity one doesn't need to look much further than Russell Crowe in Romper Stomper.

Romper Stomper - 2
American History X - 1

I'll post a new battle soon, so if anybody wants to vote on this one, hurry up.
Btw, I'm still waiting for someone to send me any suggestion.

I agree with almost everything you said here (though I did like Edward Norton's performance). At any rate, I vote Romper Stomper too.

Next battle: Two films with a tempting devil in them played by two great actors

Angel Heart

VS

Devil's Advocate

Maybe these two films are not even in quality, but look at these posters and their parallels. I just had to put them together

this is an absolute no brainer....Angel Heart has neo-noir, great cast, great script, bleak yet interesting filming, and a 'hell' of an ending....

Devil's Advocate has Reeves horrible attempt at a deep south accent, voodoo witch doctors, painfully obvious references to Paradise Lost (main character is named John Milton)...

Angel Heart 1
Devil's Advocate 0

Yeah, this is quite easy. Angel Heart is a great film and Devil's Advocate just entertaining (all with Pacino's overacting and Reeves accent )

Angel Heart 2
Devil's Advocate 0
