So what if it's a classic? They're both classics Aliens is generally regarded as one of the greatest sci-fi flicks ever, up there with Blade Runner and the old Star Wars movies.

Alien has more suspense than Aliens? I don't know if I agree, but I do feel that besides suspense, Alien has less to offer than Aliens. Alien is more slow-paced in the way it builds suspense, but when you watch a movie several times, suspense lessens (at least for me). So, replayability-wise, I feel Aliens wins.

I think Alien is dated. I know that doesn't necessarily make it worse, it just hasn't aged as well as Aliens. Most old school horror movies aren't nearly as scary these days as they used to be, but Aliens was also an awesome action movie so it's help up better.

I bring up the "it's a classic" thing because Alien is one of those movies to me when I watch it I can just feel its timelessness. I can't think of any other way to describe it.

Aliens has Bill Paxton screaming in the background and is kinda predictable. Idk, it's just not as cool. But they are two very different films (IMO) so I can understand why some like Aliens better...
