2. Amadeus- F Murray Abraham and Tom Hulce were exceptional and this movie is definitely worthy of any top 5.

3. Papillon- Steve Mcqueen and Dustin Hoffman and an overall great story with historical leanings.

4. The Godfather- One of the greatest movies ever on any list. I feel the acting in this movie stands up today to anything ever made.

5. Chinatown- not sure why on this one, i just love the boldness of Nicholsons character and this movie in general.

Honorable mention to Citizen Kane which i'm sure i'll be punished for in a different life.
Great list and Citizen Kane IS a great film and blows the arse of most films even today. It is still eminently watchable.

The only film I don't like is Chinatown. I still find it ridiculously overrated.

This usually varies a lot for me. At the moment, these films are at the top of my list - a few of them have been for quite some time.

1.) American Beauty
2.) All About Eve
3.) Fargo
4.) The Children's Hour
5.) Phantom of the Paradise

Honorable Mentions:

Amelie
The Big Lebowski
Doubt
Pontypool

A fan of Jörg Buttgereit I see? Ever seen Schramm? It is hard to get hold of here and quite expensive on import unfortunately so I haven't got around to seeing it. Saying that I haven't seen Nekromantik 1 or 2 either. I have been told that 2 is far better.
