As much as we want to deny we want to get along with others and share our interests with, it's what makes us happy, studies have proven that as a fact. Being purposely alone and anti-social does nothing for your self esteem.

you just have been fortunate in your life so far to not have to come into contact with the certain type of person that will want to fight you regardless of if you did something to them or not.

yeah but if you are the type of person that doesn't mind being alone or anti social then it won't affect your self esteem at all.

I used to go around screaming that I don't need friends **** everyone alive. I was born by myself and I will die by myself. I don't need social interaction. I later found out I was wrong about that but that doesn't mean there are people that exist that are able to be happy well adjusted individuals and are able to be alone and live in isolation.

what i meant is that if i surround myself with people (friends) that are respected and has a good reputation in school, chances are i'll never get into trouble as far as being picked on by anyone simply because they know i'm part of a group that's not gonna tolerate bullying. though i've never seen one instance of bullying in my school, i bet it's the reason why nobody came up to me and disrespected me like the one on the video.

You do know just because you have not seen one instance of bullying that doesn't mean it doesn't occur right?

I know what you're saying, but I am meaning full abstinence from human contact socially. I love my alone time too, more often that not really, but without having people to interact with and share interests with (like even how we do over the internet) I would feel very alone and unsure of myself.

i agree. but i don't assume things without actual proof. just because American schools have lots of reported cases of bullying, doesn't mean the whole world applies to that case. That's called generalizing.
