I got bullied in middle school and high school. I think everyone can relate to that feeling of helplessness. When I was in the 9th grade I had a rollerblading accident and knocked my two front teeth out. It was my first year of high school, and it took 3 months to get my dental plate in. I had to deal with bullying and being made fun of for my teeth. When I got my dental plate in, the bullies still messed with me. At one point, my bully was in the school parking lot threatening me with a flail (yes, a medieval pole with a spikey metal ball chained to it.) The next day at lunch he messed with me and I punched him square in the face. We both got suspended for the 'fight'. I nearly got arrested, but his mother did not file charges because he had been calling me racal slurs, and she was afraid that her son would be arrested for a "hate crime." (even though I was not of the ethnicity that would garner the words that he had chosen)

Most, if not all schools have a zero tolerance policy. No matter who did what, you're alll equally guilty. Bullying will never end. People will always quarrell with those who are different. The utopian society that we desire is apparently out of reach.

I commend the young man for defending himself. He should come back to school with some much deserved credibility.

i was pretty gangster-ish in my youth

as a boy, i was HUGE, anybody that bullied me got a hard shove and they'll tumble on the floor

If it were a choice, then all straight guys can just very well admit they are capable of having sex with men and basically enjoy it but it's just that they chose not to and opt for girls instead.
