The Magnificent Seven was a great western for its time but the sequels were poor films and an early example of sequels trying to milk off the original. For such an old film buff I`ve yet to see Seven Samurai.

it's pretty great stuff, if you can deal with the length (it's over 3 hours)

No problem would probably watch it in two sessions.

I don't know what you expect, it's widely known that Star Wars borrows from a lot of different ideas and puts them all together to get the space epic that it has become.

You either love it or you don't. I personally love it.

I bet you are probably a Trekkie huh?

Oh, we found a new planet. Let's go down and have sex with the locals then have problems getting back to the starship because fat ass Scottie can never do his job right and something always goes wrong. The guy in the red suit gets killed. Kirk gets beamed up just in the time before something awful happens. Rinse and Repeat.

i already told you I am

uh. no, actually

a lot of the episodes were written by famous sci-fi writers such as Robert Bloch and Harlan Ellison

i suppose you just watched one or two episodes and based your assumptions on those episodes?

I know there was slightly more to Star Trek that consisted of them rocking back and forth as other ships shot at them.

I just can't be bothered to watch them.

The only series I kept up with a little bit and it was only because my mother loved it was Deep Space Nine and some of Voyager.

most of the original series usually have some thought-provoking stuff

of coz, about 1/3rd of them are total crap as well, e.g. "Spock's Brain"
