Adam Sandler - Funny guy, really?

He's one of those people who I have generally considered to be amusing, but he's played the same character too many times, and it's all got a bit old at this stage.

That exact angle has worked for Gilbert Gottfried for over 30 years now though. Why can't Sandler enjoy the exact same attention for the exact same schtick from a new generation?

Compared to the average comedy actor, he is of course funny. But I am not a huge fan.

Not funny. Very bland in anything he does, and every character he portrays falls into either one of two categories;
-down on his luck average guy who gets given an unexpected break
-impossibly unfunny stereotype or retarded man.

The man has no range, has no redeeming qualities as a leading actor and just is not funny, nor can he portray serious roles either. He sucks.

He can clearly be a legit actor because he was great in Funny People, but half the time he just plays the angry manchild. It gets old fast.

He was an unfunny asshole in Funny People and that kinda suited him. I consider it his best role.

I thought his performances in both punch drunk love and spanglish were good.

He's a pretty easy target to pick on, but if you go back and watch the SNL skits his comedic range is larger than the run of the mill films he has released.

Adam is just doing what every other comedian does when he has becomes successful, make ****e.

I do detest his films though-lets be clear. Especially the one's he doesn't appear in, ie Grandmas Boy, anything with rob schneider.
