I agree Wuthering Height's ghost of Catherine Earnshaw, scratching at the window while calling for Heathcliff to let her in comes to mind.

I too, liked Paranormal Activity. The pacing int he beginning sets the ground for some good scares throughout. I also like the second one as much as the first.

You should watch the 3rd one. I thought it was by far the best out of all 3 because it was paced way better.
