Anyway, I think I'm going to start the game over. I have run into so many bugs that have ruined certain storylines for me. I can't buy the Riften house because of some bug that I activated by doing something... and I can't become guildmaster of the Thieves guild because the did all of the guild quests in the wrong order.

I love Bethesda but there are just sooooo many bugs!
Instead of restarting, you could try and use console commands to "cheat" yourself out of your problems. It's not generally a satisfactory way to do things, but at least it's a possibility - if you dare open that pandora's box!

I've heard using such commands may steal away all steam achievements, so be warned.

The whole 'some enemies aren't leveled' thing in this game is starting to annoy me a little bit. I got a letter from a 'friend' yesterday telling me to go and grab a shout at an old Nordic ruin. There was a Draugr Death Overlord waiting for me, and I'm level 16. Took me forever to beat it, but when I finally reach the Word Wall? A Dragon Priest arrives on the scene.

Yeah that drove me mad too, you practically own everyone on your way through a dungeon and get to that one person at the end of it you're not even sure his heath is going down. It's moments like that when the become ethereal shout comes in handy.

I hated Draugr overlords (and Scourge) for the longest time at lower levels... that freaking disarm shout screwed me up because half the time my weapon would just disappear and not be anywhere on the ground to retrieve it. Once you level up higher, they're a lot easier to deal with and the shouts stop working on you, but it's still a scary ass sound and it makes me flinch, thinking my weapon will disappear.

I'm not too bothered about Draugr Overlords as I'm a Mage so I can just run away from them chucking Fireballs, but those Dragon Priests are nasty pieces of work. I encountered my first one with (College of Winterhold spoilers, don't click unless you've won it all)

Spoiler for College of Winterhold:
the final College quest where you have to enter Labyrinthian. The bastard drains your magicka and summons a gorramn Storm Atronach every 5 seconds. I have no idea how I beat him.

If you have the become ethereal shout use guerilla tactics on him, I'd save your magicka for healing spells and just charge him into a corner with dual wielded weapons (shields are useless), once he takes enough of your health become ethereal hide somewhere and heal up, rince and repeat with a few saves in between. If you don't have the shout then unrelenting force *might* give you enough time to get out of there.

Yea, that's why I have no issues with Dragon Priests. I see my magicka bar going down and I just chuckle. I don't use it anyway.
I just ignore sh*t that necromancers and mages conjure up. I go straight for the guy doing it and it kills everything they conjure when you kill them. No sense in wasting your stuff on them.

I did the College before I did anything else, and fighting Morokei was pure hell as a low level mage without the Arch Mage's robes or his mask yet. I eventually just took advantage of poor AI, by just hiding around a door, blasting him with my sparks, and taking cover when he nailed me with his spells. I don't think I could've done it any other way, as his spell was like a two hit kill on me while my spells barely put a dent in him.

This was before I had learned any shouts either, I hadn't even fought a dragon up to this point.

Same, I did it before even completing Bleak Falls Barrow, so I was completely shoutless. My character at the time was also an (almost) pure mage, although I've made him far more flexible since that experience. One the one hand I love that kind of encounter as it reminds me of the utter terror that certain dungeons brought to your very soul in Morrowind and it stops the handholding of facing every single opponent perfectly tailored to your level, but it's also annoying when you've been through a very, very long dungeon (as all Nordic ruins I've encountered have been) and you face an enemy that you have no chance of beating.

Hey I'm just in Bleak Falls Barrow, btw whats the door sequence as it has the usual animals on the door. I'm being lazy here and picking you for knowledge as I know I could find this on Gamefaqs. I'm a warrior still only on level 6 and have hardly used magic or the shout and am pretty much trashing everybody I meet. I also have the help of a valet who was given to me after doing a mission for the Jarl. She's great in battles and hardly loses any life.
