Some of the earlier systems I didn't get to play many of the classics because I was pretty young. But I played the hell out of all these games, and still play some of them:

Sega Master System : California Games
Genesis: Sonic, Qix, Jurassic Park(Sega CD)
Nintendo: Mike Tyson's Punch Out, Super Mario 3, Wild Gunman
SNES: Secret of Mana, Zelda, Super Mario, Legend of Gaia
N64: 007, Zelda (the first one)
PS1: Suikoden, FF7, FF Tactics**, Ehrgeiz, Dave Mirra BMX, Tomba
Dreamcast: Powerstone, Tokyo Extreme Racer, Tony Hawk
Xbox 360: Marvel vs Capcom

Computer: Ultima Online**, Wolf Team, League of Legends, D II/III, WoW, Minecraft

**Favorite games of all time (console and PC)

There were two James Bond games for the n64, TWINE and GoldenEye. I actually consider the world is not enough to be far superior to golden eye in just about every aspect of the game.

Actually I think it is better in every facet. Twine was better than golden eye.

DwnWthVwls 06-05-2014 11:04 AM

GoldenEye.. I didn't even know there was a 2nd one.. I spent many hours fighting shooting friends. Facility and the Temple were my two favorite levels.

I forgot Minecraft on my list, whoops.

Black Francis 06-05-2014 11:22 AM

Golden eye has not aged well though but at the time it was awesome.

it's funny, i dislike Fps now but i loved Golden eye and playing Vs with friends back then, imo before online Fps became what they are now Golden eye was a glimpse of that and that was what made it great.

@DwnWthVwls

California games was awesome and so was punch out, i recently downloaded Super punch out for the Snes and it's still fun and looks great.

So I pulled out my NES the other day. Excitebike is still one of the greatest games of alltime. I literally played it for an hour.

I play Excitebike the same way that I play Flappy Bird in short quick doses. If I try to play any longer than say 10 mins I will shut it off in pure frustration.

The cool thing about excite bike is creating your own track that's my fav feature of the game.

Oh, absolutely. That's pretty much the only mode I played it in as a kid.

Idk if it's the best but for me 'Civilization' is one of the best games ive ever played..

I didn't grow up with a computer so i missed out on alot of good Sim games but thankfully Civilization crossed over to gaming consoles and i got to play it.

ive played it in 3 different ports, in the Snes, in the DS and in the Ps3 and every version varied a little but it's still followed the original concept..

Oh I know. Never got to play it but once or twice until it came out on the 360, and then I pretty much played it till the wheels fell off. Disappointing that they made the game a lot shorter, so you couldn't get nearly as into it as with the computer version, but Civ is Civ.

I always wished Civilization was more open ended like Sim city or the sims cause it's a great game but it leaves you wanting more..

maybe they could add an online mode were you could go to war or trade with another player or team up with him against other players

I don't know if you ever played the computer versions, but the game went on for a lot longer in those. They really sped up the passing of time for the console port and it ended up making the game feel more rushed. The lack of expansion packs for the console version also kind of sucked.

Jagged alliance 2, I'm a huge fan of SRPGs and this really was everything I could ask for. From ordering to maintaining and customizing an ungodly selection of guns and explosives, hiring mercenaries and keeping their relationships and moral in check, allowing them to train each other and forming a militia in surrounding towns not to mention the very solid and satisfying turn based gun fights, I've sunk so much time into this game and never got bored.

Overcast 08-09-2014 07:18 PM

This is a hard one for me. I could say The Last of Us for its amazing story/graphics/characters, but the gameplay kind of makes it more like a movie.

Ultimately the Super Mario series is the best for me more than anything. I love platform games... n64/snes/ps1. From the series itself: Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island - my favorite.
