Angry Birds Star Wars anyone?

Has anyone seen the recent "South Park" where they link the victory of Obama to the Chinese trying to get Star Wars from Disney? Bloody hilarious!
There's only the promo online which doesn't give the full idea, but if you haven't seen it you should...

J.J. Abrams, 'Star Wars' Director: 'Star Trek' Boss Reportedly Chosen To Helm 'Episode VII'

Well there goes any enthusiasm/optimism I had for the new movie.

Is that sarcasm or no? Because I have to say I think he's one of the few people who might actually be able to pull it off.

Judging even strictly from his first Star Trek movie i'd say i'm very pleased with the choice of Abrams. Hes got a great eye for directing, i'll defiitely be heading to the theater for it.

Not even close to sarcasm, J.J. Abrams is one of those anomalies that I just don't get. I haven't liked any of the movies he's directed, or even really cared for any of the TV show's he's been involved in. I can't even foresee what this movie is going to look like because of all the fucking lens flares.

As long as he keeps the cinematography in the same realm I think he would be good. The last thing we need is Star Wars with lens flare.

I'm just gonna assume that he will pay homage to Lucas and try to do the right thing. No frenetic camera wobbling scenes and no flares is a good start. I really enjoyed the Star Trek movie he did and I can see this being a positive outcome. I'm curious who hes gonna cast. Wonder if he'll stick with the same character portrayals or move on from Christensen and the like.

But seriously, I think he's pretty good at adapting to the material. I thought Super 8, for example, was great and I don't remember much in the way lens flares or shakycam or blown out photography in it. It felt very much like an early 80s Spielberg or Lucas movie. I think if he can bring that kind of sensibility to a Star Wars movie, it might work.

I just checked dudes imdb. He is producing like six different things currently including sequels to Cloverfield and Star Trek. Where does he find the time. I enjoyed Super 8 also, little bit of a weak ending but certainly worth a watch.
