Dope show, I wish they got to make more episodes.

LoathsomePete 03-06-2013 12:31 PM

Here's some of my favorite cartoons from different periods of my life.

Child (Ages 3-10)

Batman: The Animated Series *
Spider-Man
Samurai Pizza Cats
Bump In the Night (it was claymation but I'm still counting it)
Hey Arnold
Reboot
Beasties (or Beast Wars if your country isn't stupid)
The Simpsons
Rugrats
Animaniacs
Dexter's Lab
Freaky Stories

Pre-Teen (Ages 10-14)

South Park
Family Guy
Futurama *
Dilbert
Rocket Power (don't judge)

Teenager (14-18)

King of the Hill
Bromwell High
The Boondocks *
Samurai Jack *
Undergrads *
The Venture Bros. *

Adult (18-Present)

Bob's Burgers
Archer
Adventure Time

I don't really watch a lot of cartoons anymore, even the ones from my youth because I don't care much about nostalgia. The ones with stars next to them are shows I still watch on occasion.

And that my friends, is why Home Movies is the greatest cartoon ever.

I always hated Scoobie Doo as well but the only reason I would want the kids version is because they had dance breaks during the monster chase scenes and I would get a kick out of that.

I used to love coming home to catch afternoon cartoons like Duck Tales, Rescue Rangers, Tail Spin, Darkwing Duck, Gargoyles, Goof Troop.

Speaking of Goof Tropp, A Goofy Movie was the best, I loved the powerline scene

edwardc77 03-16-2013 10:19 PM

Well I grew up in Italy, and in the 80’s and early 90’s most of the cartoons that were shown on Italian TV were from japan.
So I guess
Dragon ball,
Kimagure Orange Road,
Captain Tsubasa
Doraemon
Daitarn 3 ……… to name but a few

I like Spongebob Squarepants the best. In fact, I liked it before it was even popular...

Plankton 04-18-2013 09:11 AM

I don't think I ever missed an episode of Speed Racer when I was a youngster.

Used to watch this a load as a kid. Really creepy.

New avvy is a character in the film.

Funkmaster Red 07-31-2013 05:13 AM

I grew up watching the 8 original cartoon cartoons from the classic Cartoon network era. Along with Scooby Doo and the original Looney Tunes. I also watch a lot of the cartoons that aired on Nickelodeon during the 90's.
Lastly I have to say my one and only all-time favorite cartoon was Courage the cowardly Dog! Seen every episode at least four times with the exception of two episodes. I even remember watching the pilot episode when the show first air on cartoon network back in around 1997. A superb cartoon with dark humor, adult themes and a kind hearted pink spotted dog named Courage :o:
Now n day kids watch that Adventure Time show.....

Plankton 07-31-2013 09:26 AM

I used to like "The Tick". Too bad they ruined it when they tried making it into a movie with real people.

It was a movie? And did you ever see the live-action TV show? It was cancelled pretty quickly, but I remember it being just as fantastic as the cartoon, and it was made for adults to boot.

Oh snap... TV show, not movie. Ooops. Personally, I didn't care for it. Could be I was just being stubborn and didn't want a transiton from the magical world of animation. Maybe I'll revisit some episodes.

Do so. Granted, I haven't seen it since it came out, but I definitely remember it being swizeet.

The Live Action TV show isn't worth it trust.

The Tick was perfect in animated form.

Also, I used to love watching Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist

Scarlett O'Hara 08-04-2013 01:54 AM

Gargoyles
The Simpsons
Captain Planet
Rugrats
Doug

i probably dig the first tmnt series and underdog the most. billy & mandy, courage the cowardly dog, and pepe le pew are some other, notable favorites.

Surell 09-18-2013 12:50 AM

90s Nick cartoons are just where its at, no question, i don't dig Doug anymore though.

OMG that Bjork Spaceghost is, like, the best thing that happened for television since, i dunno, we switched from tubes.

The Batlord 09-18-2013 04:30 PM

Has anyone mentioned Gargoyles yet? One of those cartoons that had my soul as a kid. How they managed to make a show about monsters that turn to stone into such a mature and accomplished piece of child drama is beyond my ken. I found out the other day that it only had three seasons. How could such a brilliant show have only three seasons? And it felt so much longer at the time too.

It was also the first time I ever heard Keith David, who is pretty much the coolest voice actor ever.

Dulce 10-25-2013 04:03 PM

Hey Arnold
Pinky and the Brain
Beavis and Butthead
Ren and Stimpy
Gumby
Tom and Jerry
Looney Tunes
The Simpsons
Family guy
Daria
Etc
d-_-b

ladyislingering 10-29-2013 12:05 AM

I love getting lost on youtube watching depression-era Mickey Mouse and Looney Tunes. Some of those cartoons are so wildly inappropriate these days because of the blatant racism but god, they're entertaining.

Apart from that I love Beavis and Butthead, Regular Show, Bob's Burgers, King of the Hill, Tom & Jerry, Johnny Bravo, Rocko's Modern Life, Daria, South Park, Shin Chan, and others I'm sure I'm forgetting. Cartoons are so relaxing when you've had to be in serious-mode all day/week and you just don't want to think anymore.

mattluka 11-18-2013 03:57 PM

Inspector Gadget!

GuD 11-20-2013 07:53 PM

My favorites as a kid were the old Looney Tunes and Simpsons, Ren n Stimpy, Courage the Cowardly Dog, and Rocko's Modern Life.

Nowadays I mostly watch "adult-cartoons". Bob's Burgers, Archer, South Park... that's really all I can think of.

Paul Smeenus 11-21-2013 11:30 PM

Roger Smith, ATF animated character

djchameleon 11-22-2013 04:46 AM

rofl Love Roger. He's awesome.

The Batlord 11-22-2013 10:41 AM

**** Roger. **** that show. The only time that show was ever any good was in the second season and Roger was still one of the worst things about it.

LennyComa 11-26-2013 01:31 PM

I like The Tick and Ahhhh Real Monsters. Hard to pick a favourite between those two but SPOON to my head it would be the Tick

booo. What's with all this American Dad hate?

It is streets ahead of Family Guy and slightly lower than Futurama but pretty close to it.

Ninetales 11-26-2013 03:52 PM

I havent seen many episodes but im in no rush to from what ive seen. I dont really like family guy either and pretty much think seth mcfarlane isnt funny at all so that could be it.

Love Futurama so we have that in common atleast.

djchameleon 11-26-2013 04:02 PM

See the strange thing is that American Dad seems to be above Seth's normal humor. I feel like that has to do with the writers imo.

He doesn't seem to have much input over it as he did with The Cleveland Show so it's not just another Family Guy knock-off. The Cleveland Show was terribad.

I will show you my fave American Dad moment. Well one of them.

He loses the girl to a younger kid just because he can dance!

Goofle 11-27-2013 02:19 AM

American Dad is fantastic. That episode where they get high after being in a burning down weed barn is perfect.

Goofle 11-27-2013 02:20 AM

Cheetoooooos

Paul Smeenus 11-27-2013 02:47 AM

Actually I fractionally prefer Family Guy on balance but Roger is my favorite character from any Seth MacFarlane series, both for his snarky, vaguely gay personality and the seemingly endless ways they find to dress him up. Plus that waddle walk of his.

In order of preference:

Roger
Stan
Steve
Francine
Hailey

Klaus

Oh yeah, and I agree with Deej, The Cleveland Show SUUUUUUUUCKS
