I don't care what anyone says...the first one is a Christmas classic. I was right around the age of the kid in the movie, so I could easily relate. This says nothing about the horrible sequels, however. Just the first one, folks...just the first one.

I'm not sure if I've seen the sequels, so not judgement there. I agree about The Santa Clause though. For a Christmas film, it's fine. You can get away with **** like that when it's a kids Christmas film, and personally I think it's a pretty good one.

I also just watched Bad Santa. I had never seen it before and loved it, so thanks for the recommendations folks!

My favourite. Reminds me of my own family in some aspects. The kid who plays Russ is Leonard on "The Big Bang Theory" now.

Thats one of my favourites too. I always leave that until last and make a point of watching it every year.

A Christmas Story is hands down the best of the bunch but there are few that come close. The ones that have been mentioned already being Bad Santa, A Christmas Vacation, and Die Hard, but there are some that haven't...

This thing scared the **** out of me and also has one of the most disturbing stories ever told in a "kids" movie.

I'll always have a place in my heart for this movie. I get such a nostalgic feeling whenever I watch it.

My family, along with our regular tree, goes out and gets a Charlie Brown tree every year. That alone tells you how much I love this movie.

I'll still watch that stop-animation Rudolph TV special pretty much every time I see it played on TV. That's my ultimate nostalgia movie.

Surprisingly for a comedy with Arnie in it, "Jingle all the way" was actually quite good. Not brilliant, but very funny and not really very soppy at all.

Oh, and good call on "Nightmare before Christmas". Should be listed as one of THE classic Christmas movies.

And even though it's animated, and on EVERY year, I always have a soft spot for "The Snowman"... it's just one of those things, y'know?

Yeah that one is definitely a classic, though the first half is superior to the second part. But the whole thing always gets me in the Christmas mood.
