It was the same with Wii U - I wanted to buy one on launch, but the launch software was so mediocre I didn't bother and it took a good 8 months for quality software to appear.

In the old days a console would launch with a triple A game, be it Mario 64 or Ridge Racer or Virtua Fighter or Halo, etc.. Seems those days are gone.

I've heard Knack is really boring after awhile, however the general consensus around RESOGUN is really positive and it's been awhile since there's been a really fun flight combat game.

Oh also get Warframe, it's F2P but not pay-to-win and it's awesome.

Also DJ if you are having trouble downloading the 150 mb firmware update to actually use your PS4 because of PSN problems, you can download it on your PC and transfer it over to your PS4 via USB.

Well first impressions:

I downloaded that firmware update super easily had no issues with it. Knack is pretty fun to me because I haven't played a platform game in ages and this is just the right one for me. It does feel simplistic with it's controls but I do understand that it is more of a kids game possibly. I'm still enjoying it though. Resogun is an excellent arcade shooter that's 3D. I'm just getting the hang of the controls for it but I can already tell that I'm going to log quite some time on that.

I have Contrast, Warframe and one other game downloading so I haven't tried those out yet.

Earlier this afternoon, I did have trouble syncing up my PSN account to my ps4 but when I attempted to do it just a few mins ago it worked perfectly fine. I also decided to watch a few live broadcasts of other people playing games and that was kind of fun but I'm not too big on watching gameplay streams. I also need to make a Twitch account. I couldn't comment along with other people that were having a conversation on the side.

Also, I need to get used to sounds coming from the speaker that's on the controller. It catches me off guard every single time it happens.

Don't forget if you had Flower on the PS3, you can download it on the PS4 for free. This time in 1080P and 60fps.
