Bought the game from Asda. Installed. Played an hour and done a couple missions. It's better than GTA4.
Spoiler for spoiler:

glad this thread is safe for work now

Jesus christ Fluffy I didnt need to see that. But seriously if i had the game i would be doing that.
|
The game is top 2 of the GTA games.
With 4 it felt like a chore to get into the game but this one you're hooked from the start. The only one that comes close is Vice City, maybe beats it considering the time it came out and the hype around it. We need a HD remake of Vice City. |

^ Na, what was it released on?

So much wit in this game. This is levels ahead of GTA 4. The way they take the piss out of Apple and social networking is .

It's just funny. One of the missions involves rigging a prototype smartphone with a bomb then ringing the bloke hosting a live unveiling of it, it's clearly a take on Steve Jobs and the iPhone unveilings, the speech is pretty funny, when he answers the phone the bomb goes off live on telly as you're watching it in your house. The radio station news mocks Apple and smartphone fanboyism in general. They have two parodies of Twitter and Facebook when you use the internet named Bleeter (and instead of the bird logo it's a sheep) and LifeInvader. It's spot on the way they mock these sites. |
That sis awesome, I have always enjoyed all the social commentary in GTA. That is what makes rockstar such a great company, the attention to detail. Even 3 had an incredible amount of hidden stufff that if you just quickly passed by you would never get the humor.

So much detail in this game. If you attack someone in the street, people get their phones out a take pics and film. If you crash into a car at speed, the driver you hit slumps on their steering wheel and the horn stays going off. It really is worth the money. Can't wait until the online works. |
they mad ea billion already??
decent, not bad |
Rockstar needed this. Before the release of this game they weren't doing so well from an investment point of view.
|
I'm waiting for GTAV to hit Steam.

I have a few gripes about five. First of all **** LA. The streets there are kind of confusing to navigate. Idk what they did to the mini map but it's kind of weird and I find myself always having to create waypoints for where ever I want to go. Two, where are the cops? You only see tons of them AFTER you gain a star. In 4, I used to tap the back of their cars to start up some crap and see if I could survive the police onslaught. There are no cops like randomly driving around.
|
The map is fine imo. In fact I have no problems getting around the city, whereas with 4 I never really felt like I got a grasp of the game.
As for the police, I've seen them, not loads but they're there. *shrug* |
**** this, all I want to do is play gta 5. I have Vite City SA and 4 but I cant play them without feeling like a poverty gamer. fellsbadman, I dont have any male friends where I moved so I cant even go to someones house to play it.

Your second point is true though, and also the cops are tough as nails in this game, even on a 2 star wanted level. Still having a blast, this game is what IV should have been |

The streets being wider is nice and all but if I'm not using the GPS it's hard to tell if I should have went over an overpass/bridge or I missed going over a ramp on a freeway and I end up underneath where I need to be. Just minor little things like that. |
Goofle you got this yet?
I'm on about 25% now. I forgot though that with GTA the percentage includes all side missions and whatnot, I don't want the story to end cos it's very good. Once I've clocked it, I'll go back then clock it again. |
Just picked it up and played way more than I wanted to in one sitting because I didn't know there was an autosave option on the phone. I kept trying to go into Michael's house to sleep but it kept starting new missions instead lol. Seems fine so far. I'll have to play more to give a real assessment of it.
|
Finished the story, working on 100% now.
Humiliating Laslow might be the best part of the whole game, but the missions leading up to the finale are all very memorable. This is the best GTA game, with the best story, best characters, everything. It blows everything else out of the water. |
I want the next GTA to be about a female protagonist!
