Speaking of Matt Damon, I watched the Bourne trilogy, it was great! I want more though.

That would have really pissed me off because that series is near perfect as a trilogy and there's absolutely no need to keep going with it. Now I can at least convince myself that they aren't treading on those good stories. Ben Affleck can ruin this if he wants to, I don't care.

Exactly what I thought after hearing this...after the numerous jokes about it to my friends of course.

It's not like Michal 'Mr Mom' Keaton is a guy I'd have cast as Batman back in '89, but that worked out just fine as well. I loved the Dark Knight trilogy to bits, and I'm glad that it's not being exhumed for this crossover.

As for Affleck, he was superb in Chasing Amy, one of my favourite movies of all time. Very different film from what this will be, of course, but I'm ok to give him a chance to prove himself as Batman all the same.

Dunno why Christian Bale gets so much credit for his acting in Nolan batman films. The movies are ok for what they are - a cheap plot line that gives excuses for special effect wizardry - but his performance, really? His tough guy voice in the films comes off as a bad impression of Clinton Eastwood one would hear in a bar, and he was required to have the emotional range of a ****ing quarter. He was either or so angry or quite and sad :(

How about we look at a film staring Christian Bale that really required his acting to sell it... like The Machinist. And that film was terrible.

Really Ben Afleck as Batman? yuck, why?

For me just the fack that it's Ben affleck turns me off..

Christian bale was better but his acting wasn't really superb or anything, it's fricking Batman he doesn't have alot of range they don't to act their ass off to play him

However the tone of the Batman films have changed dramatically they used to be like broadway show with exaggerated fantasy settings NOW the batman films have like a more like a gritty raw reality edge to them and Christian fit into that well imo

i can't picture Ben as a bad ass super hero i saw daredevil and Ben did nothing for that role, add to that a lame DD costume and a mediocre plot and they basically ruined DD

Hell, even Electra was better than DD

For a new batman i would've liked to see Clive owen play the part.. or maybe Colin farrel idk

or maybe bring in a new unknown actor to play him but don't give it to Ben Afleck!!

Nolan goes out of his way not to use special effects. What do you mean?

Yea, the plot is actually quite twisted and leaves much room for your own interpretation. With the special effects that could dominate the film much more. HiphopB why wouldnt you use special effects with todays technology...it is batman.

HHBH just wants to be controversial and say special effects are bad even though there were more pratical type special effects used compared to say CGI stuff.

hip hop bunny hop 09-24-2013 10:10 AM

?

I just got three different responses:

1. Hardly any special effects were used
2. The special effects were great
3. Special effects were not CGI

So, responses:

1. The action sequences rely upon special effects, and this is an action movie
2. The special effects were good as I admitted
3. There's no shortage of films that do non-CGI effects better. Road Warrior? Road Warrior.

So, my turn to ask a question. Was Christian Bales performance noteworthy in these movies? I'd say, no.

Ugh, this reminds me of when I found out Anne Hatheway was gonna be catwoman in DK3. Really? Cheery, girl-next-door Anne Hatheway for a seductive, mysterious, violent, badass female criminal? I still wish that role was given to someone like Scarlette Johanson or even Olivia Wilde, not that that would've made the movie a whole lot better. The women who played the main villainess (I forget her name) was the only part of the movie that kept me interested. Dang, she purdy.

Ben Affleck? lameeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I think Tom Cruise would make a hilarious Batman.
