I am going to have to re-add people since I lost all of my friends with this new replacement DS.

Also they are shutting down the WiFi network so no more Mario Kart 7 Online, Animal Crossing stuff and no more wonder trades and battling online in Pokemon.

I'm pretty sure this only affects the Wii and DS, not the new 3DS and WiiU. So I believe you'll still be able to do Wondertrade and stuff on Animal Crossing New Leaf, just not older titles.

hmmm okay. There seems to be mixed messages being sent about what it is affecting. There is an Animal Cross community that is freaking out over this news.

I'm so disappointed by Nintendo. I mean, it's understandable that the online services have to end sometime.
Although... for both Wii and DS, and for so many titles - at the same time?

Nintendo seems to be like:
"We can't make you buy our new consoles and titles. We're going to stop the services for the well-know, but older titles. Now, be good and buy our new (but sadly trashy and too casual) titles.
We don't feel like re-thinking our marketing-plans, product developing plans and we don't even consider changing anything, we just enjoy milking out casual games."
It's obvious that this won't do the company's image any good, that's for sure.

I mean, ok... I will still keep playing my 3DS titles, because I like them. I'm not sure if I want to buy the WiiU, especially because of this shut down.
I'd have played the Wii games online, but now I've got no reason for buying a WiiU anymore, not like there are any good titles released.
