I think one of the reasons I dislike them is they take themselves way too seriously. The original comic books had an underlining tongue in cheek sense of humour going on, like they acknowledged that people running around planet Earth in silly underwear using magical powers was a bit silly, but the movies have forgotten this.
Do you like Action movies in general? because i don't think there is much of a difference between a hero and a superhero, i just saw the Last Die hard flick and John Mcclane HAS to be a superhero in order to live through all the bullets and explosions he encounters.

So the difference is mostly that superheroes actually flat out state they have super powers but other than that it's the same action hero formula as other action movies minus the silly underwear as you say. lol

Not a huge action fan, no, but I can enjoy the odd action flick.

Mad Men is boring as hell. Nothing interesting ever happens on the show, the only entertaining part about it is the realism. But it's too real, to the point of being mundane.

I actually love Peggy quite a bit too. She's a great character and Elisabeth Moss is just... oh my.

No matter how much I might like it, whenever I see someone in a military movie or show do an improper hand salute it's like nails on a chalkboard. There's plenty of other military stuff they do wrong, but since a salute goes right up to an actor's face it's the most noticeable. I did two years in JROTC and then went to military school for my last two years of high school, and they made damn sure to beat exactly how to do a hand salute into your brain. There is only one right way to do it, and every aspect, from the way you bring your hand up, to the way you hold your fingers, to the way you're supposed to tilt your hand, to who exactly you're supposed to salute and when, is exact and choreographed, and if you do it wrong they will be sure to let your know. So there is no possible way that some guy in a war movie will not know how to properly to do, and whenever it's done wrong, and it's always, always, always, done wrong, it just takes me out of the movie/show for a few seconds and reminds me these are just actors who wouldn't know a properly bloused boot from their elbow.
