This is actually pretty good.

I wish the audio was better tbh.

Loving The Pharaoh at the moment. Egyptian ex Muslim youtuber.

Worst rap ever
|
Have you seen Sinead O'Connor's rapping? Makes me laugh every time.

This is an eventuality I intend to avoid. Yikes. Not that I know the first thing about rap, I fully admit I do not but at least I know what it isn't. |
BTW, I need to clarify 1 important point. Some girls can rap, just not her

Some of you may know this guy but i just recently discovered him.
NardwuarServiette This guy is sorta of a legend, almost if not all his interviews are great, Just like pharel a ton of artist he has interviewed have said his interview was the best. He also has wide range regarding the artist he interviews. by that i mean he interviews rappers, comedians, rockers, you name it, his channel is just an archive of legendary interviews. Quote:
|
Nardwuar has some awesome interviews for sure.
|
He does. it's interesting to see how each artist react to him. some of them praise him but others just see him as a weirdo. others just flat out bully him like those jerks from Sonic Youth.
Sandurz This channel is all about analyzing beats. apart from the beat breakdown segment the guy also does a live stream called beat critique where users submit their beats and him and the chat share their take on it. |
Been watching a lot of 6oodfella's videos recently. Makes a lot of good points but he is the most unintentionally funny Youtuber going. When he gets really into it, his accent just makes me piss myself :D
|
Channel Awesome
Im gonna just say it, this guy is probably the funniest movie reviewer on youtube. Though he approaches his reviews in a humorous way they are pretty insightful and once you get used to his sense of humour you'll get why his channel has that name. |
I just discovered him the other day, too, and it was through that Spawn video. He's awesome, but I can't forgive him for ****ting on Independence Day.
|
I haven't seen that review yet but his spawn review was also what got me into him. Yesterday i saw his review of the daredevil and it was funny as hell too.
|
I don't even really watch much anime but Demolition D is my favorite reviewer. I can't think of anyone else who manages to be as entertaining and insightful of their opinion while also not making their videos way too long and drawn out in the process.
His non-review videos are also gold |
I don't know if we have a thread solely for Let's players or something. If we do, I haven't found it, but anyway...
GirlGamerGaB is a Dutch let's player living in Japan, mainly focusing on horror games (although she has gotten slightly more lenient with what kind of games she LPs lately), who has become one of my favorite YouTube gamers as of late. An introduction video with clips from many of her Let's plays: And here are some of my favorite highlight videos from her: Spoiler for vids:
I also recommend especially her Let's plays of the Silent Hill games (she's done 1 to 4 thus far) and some indie games she's played like The Last Door, The Cat Lady and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter Silent Hill Silent Hill 2 The Last Door The Cat Lady The Vanishing of Ethan Carter |
These guys might blow up if they can keep things going. The traffic dude tho.

I love her! She's one of those more laidback Let's Players, but is really likable, so you get to enjoy watching the game without some overbearing clown ruining it, but the person playing is still fun. I first got into her when she did the Resident Evil 1 remake. Needless to say, she's also pretty ****ing adorable. |

That was pretty funny, if you like that sorta dickish humor you should check out Hotdiggedydemon's WGJ4K series, it's about a videogame reviewer who makes fun of videogame reviewers. He was part of that wave of animators that went from New Grounds to youtube like Egoraptor and Spazkid and all those guys but he never quite got the recognition they got because the guy refuses to pander to his own fanbase, in fact he treats them like sh*t and it's hilarious. here he is with Egoraptor making fun bronies. (The panel has a slow start, jump to to the 10:00 mark) Every time i mention this guy to ppl no one knows who he is which is a shame cause this guy is too funny to not be more popular. |

He's also a big pussy at horror games, and his reactions are hilarious but still genuine. At times you can really tell that a game is giving him actual indigestion from stress. You can skip to around 7:00 for the start of his misery. |
Just discovered LeafyIsHere, and he's amazing. Basically, he just picks out random Youtube videos (usually popular ones) that are cringe-worthy for one reason or another, and just makes fun of them, like, just straight rips them a new ******* and is gloriously mean-spirited about it. My favorite **** is a series of videos he's done about this girl who freely admits to ****ing her own dog. At some point this woman found out about Leafy's videos and began cyber stalking him, and it was all WIN from there...
Spoiler for Leafy v. The Dog ****er:
And then there's the guy who drilled his own head. Spoiler for Leafy v. Head Driller:
|
^ Ive seen a couple of his vids and he's aight.
I see him as part of the haters on youtube, youtubers like him, Onision, idubbz and IHE all make similar content. Grade A under A also kinda falls into that category and speaking of Grade, here he is destroying a youtuber who has a prank channel. |
Leafy vs h3h3 is an iconic rivalry right now.
|
I caught up on that rivalry and it can be summed up to that H3 is the lesser of 2 evils. If you listen to the argument from both sides i think H3 exposed alot of leafy's flaws while leafy's main argument was to call them hypocrites.
|
Pretty much, but since I just wanna watch/listen to some ******* rag on other people humorously, then I don't really care about justifying them. Have never watched any H3H3, but assuming the quality of their videos was the same, I'd still rather watch Leafy.
|
^Even ignoring my personal feelings on Leafy, I'd still argue that both H3's main and secondary channels are light years ahead in terms of quality.
|
h3h3 definitely win the argument on moral grounds, and are the infinitely superior channel IMO. But the whole rivalry was entertaining as all hell.

This American guy is cool, reviews a lot of Grime, his reaction to this is the best I've seen so far. Sorry if late to the party. |
I've seen some guides on how to increase your visibility on Youtube and get views and subscribers, but all that **** seems like a huge hassle, and I don't know how committed I'm going to be to really building my own channel. Nobody here would happen to have a channel of their own with any kind of following who could give me some pointers would they?
Some of the **** I've seen is creating custom thumbnails for your videos to grab a potential viewer's attention, but they never really seem to give any useful advice on how exactly to do it. Also, it's been recommended to go on Reddit and become part of the Let's Play community, but I already spend way too much time on this forum to really feel like committing to another one, and I couldn't just spam my channel without establishing myself (which I understand completely, given this site's own rules about that.) And creating a "trailer" on your homepage to draw in viewers is likewise kind of nebulous. I guess I should check out other Youtubers' pages to get some idea of what to do, but all this **** is kind of overwhelming. I'm not trying to be the next Pewdiepie or anything, but it would be nice to make to at least a thousand subscribers, if only to get some regular kudos for my rampant ego. To say nothing of making a little side money from advertising, as that seems to be the number where Youtube actually takes an interest in you. But I'd be thrilled just to make it to a hundred subs. |
From what I can gather you basically need to whore your videos around, hoping and praying that somebody popular sees it and shares with their following.
For example I have a football compilation channel focusing on the team I support, and some of those vids have over 5,000 views, but I only have 229 subs. |
I think having thumbnails would definitely help, and back when I made my very brief run at being a YouTuber, I found a solid tutorial somewhere online for making easy thumbnails. If I can find it I'll link it to you.
|
From what i heard Game channels start to do well once you get a shoutout from a more popular game channel or if you do a collab with a more popular channel. I imagine at first it will feel overwhelming but i think you'll eventually could get the hang of it Batlord i also imagine that if you wanna get serious with it you'll have to make an initial investment in better equipment as well as shamelessly whore out like Goofie said.
It could be years before you take off but if you put out quality content eventually somebody will take notice. maybe when (and if) you get a little bigger you could start trying to contact other youtubers to do a collab. |
Stick as many tags in the video as possible and name your videos carefully. And get in before someone else does. My old channel has videos with over 100k views, but like Goof, I have nowhere near that amount of subs. I haven't uploaded any content in years though.

Gad Saad is pretty great. And Milo of course. |
