The Official Youtubers Thread

So, I assume i'm not the only person here that has subscribed to more than a few people on Youtube to watch their videos on a semi daily basis. I think it's far more entertaining than sitting down and watching TV in some cases. If you do subscribe to some, who are your favorites / regular viewed?

Lately, i've been watching a lot of Binding of Isaac: Rebirth videos by Northernlion. There's something about his relaxing voice and the fact that I absolutely love Binding of Isaac that makes it very enjoyable. Plus, he's been making the videos for a while, so there's a large backlog of videos to watch. It's pretty much what i've been doing in my free time for the last few weeks.

not a lot of veggie friendly stuff but I've managed to make a few adaptations- the best of which from his recipe for stuffed acorn squash. I'll post it in the foodbox.

https://www.youtube.com/user/chefsteps

Completely foofy, a little too much so for me, but I have to admit it's pretty interesting what they come up with sometimes and how they make certain things.

My favourite Hip Hop based channel by far. Four/five guys with different perspectives.

https://youtube.com/user/OTRSCentral

And my favourite wrestling based discussion channel. Love the way the guy puts across his thoughts.

Cuthbert 11-25-2014 09:48 AM

HodgeTwins - they make videos about all sorts but predominantly bodybuilding. Best thing on youtube imo.

https://www.youtube.com/user/sanjeevkapoorkhazana - Don Sanjeev >>>

https://www.youtube.com/user/howtocookmexicanfood - Mexican girl doing recipes, she's gd.

Frownland 11-25-2014 09:50 AM

I watch Fantanos reviews sometimes as I've seen all of the guys vids who does the smooth jazz Metallica and death metal Miley Cyrus parodies.

DwnWthVwls 11-25-2014 10:37 AM

Seattle Radio KEXP - Great live performances from a nice variety of indie/popular artists.

http://www.youtube.com/user/kexpradio

The Psychedelic Muse - Trippy. Mellow. Ambient.

http://www.youtube.com/user/ThePsychedelicMuse

Chrysalis 11-25-2014 12:27 PM

Aside from theneedledrop, I just follow a few video game-related channels.

https://www.youtube.com/user/vinesauce
https://www.youtube.com/user/exinthevatican
^my favorite vidya-related channels by far (and the Windows destruction videos on the latter are also fantastic).

https://www.youtube.com/user/JonTronShow
https://www.youtube.com/user/Caddicarus

That's it.

EPOCH6 11-25-2014 12:53 PM

Lord Fantano and I have very different tastes in music and we seem to disagree on releases more often than not but I still watch his videos all of the time. I like the way he listens to music, I like how enthusiastic he is about releases he truly enjoys, the way he describes them, and the way he structures his videos. I've yet to come across a reviewer I enjoy more.

I used to follow DLoaw's instrumental hip-hop channel on a daily basis back when I was first discovering that genre. I watch a lot of VICE / Noisey videos. And I follow a handful of science / technology channels.

Goofle 11-25-2014 01:38 PM

Fantano is awesome and I've been a subscriber for many years, but I just don't find myself caring about most of the stuff he discusses. Back in the day, I never knew any of the artists he talked about. But now I find myself having already decided upon listening to he albums he reviews in general.

So I usually just check out his reviews of the albums I like or ones I've not heard of.

Ninetales 11-25-2014 02:13 PM

with so many fantano fans around will Botanist's new album sneak its way into MB year end lists??

EPOCH6 11-25-2014 04:30 PM

Seems like most of us Fantano fans are more of a fan of him than his taste in music.

Goofle 04-05-2015 08:50 AM

Big fan of this guy recently:

I think he helps to add a bit of balance to many discussions that always seem to end up being anti-male/conservative. And exposes a lot of hypocrisy and ignorance on the liberal side of things.

I've not watched all of his videos yet, but I have seen enough to know he's less about being pro-male than he is pro-fairness and logic.

Maybe you disagree but check him out regardless.

After watching more I am pretty obsessed. I really think he does a good job presenting his opinions, even if I do occasionally think he goes a bit far when calling people idiots or whatever.

Cuthbert 04-27-2015 07:53 PM

That Turkish/American bloke? Can't watch cos I'm on mobile, if it's him yeah seen him before. He's OK. He goes in on religion.

Ana Kasparian is lovely too <3

Jonts 04-28-2015 04:22 AM

The Young Turks started out brilliantly I thought but the guy Cenk is getting a bit big for his boots if you ask me and becoming the very things he claims to kick against.

As for me, I've been watching lots of different channels on both sides of 2 contentious debates; MRAs vs feminism, and atheists vs creationists. Not to mention general anti-stupidity / idealist, MGTOW channels, so it's been a lot of thunderf00t, prison planet live, king crocoduck, bane666, doctor randomercam, Karen straughan and the honey badgers, armoured skeptic, sandman, bar bar. I could go on.

The tommy toehold show is a work of art if you're into UFC.

Cinema sins is genius if you like to look for things that insult your intelligence as a member of the audience.

Mike Johnston, Drumeo, Stephen taylor and Rational funk are great for drumming lessons and advice.

Oh and throw filthy frank in there too - that guy is a hilarious nutcase, I wouldn't know how to start describing how and why.

Nah it's not one of their videos so to speak. This one is pointing out the stupid things that they are saying.

Goofle 05-06-2015 04:46 PM

This guy tickles my funny bones in the weirdest way.

Black Francis 05-06-2015 05:23 PM

Schmoyoho

I discovered this channel today so im not very familiar with it yet but this Schmoyoho guys make songs out of any popular viral videos or even the news.

Their remixes are actually pretty good.

Vibes4Life 06-29-2015 10:36 AM

My Tv is connected to 200 channels, but i use it just for YOUTUBE :D

Overcast 07-03-2015 11:54 PM

This guy's channel is new and he's made very interesting videos for anybody interested in wilderness survival type stuff.

I love that he's silent about it. He just gets **** done. How he builds everything from scratch is so much cooler to watch than any other videos I've seen that pertain to this topic. I'd never go out there FULL caveman though. Seriously, no shoes? Spiders out there and ****. Fearless.

This is awesome! And I usually hate people's douchy voices in videos, so him being silent is a huge bonus for me.

Goofle 07-26-2015 04:08 PM

Enjoying this guys vids right now.

Cuthbert 07-26-2015 05:29 PM

Goofle 07-26-2015 05:33 PM

THAT'S MENTAL!!!!!

I was looking for her earlier after she appeared in this video (25:44):

And this guy is another one I like watching. I've become a lot more interested in youtube personalities like this recently.

Black Francis 07-30-2015 12:53 PM

Josiah Mcdaniel

This kid is a talented musician that not only does covers from retro videogames he adds lyrics to some of them and makes them into full songs you can enjoy even if don't know the original composition he is covering.

He also does purely instrumental ones

Nice. He lives in a great area for using those techniques. Don't think you could pull that off in NJ with the high sand content in our soil. What state/country is he in?

Goofle 08-19-2015 07:49 AM

These guys are my absolute favourite right now. Great commentary/response videos.

No idea. He just put out one of his best videos yet, though.

Anyone watch Good Mythical Morning? It's actually quite entertaining and I love that I can watch it in the morning before work.
