The floor is lava was a classic. also spent a lot of time pretending my friends and I were marooned on some kind of island and we collected leaves and **** for sustenance.

Looks like there's several Banjo Kazooie fans here

This might sound weird, but has anyone tried to get like, serious about playing it? I saw a 100% speed run at Awesome Games Done Quick and have been trying to do it myself ever since. I can get through everything up to Click Clock Wood pretty damn quickly...my time before entering CCW was just under 3 hours (the world record is 2:07 for the whole game). Problem is I suck at that world and die like halfway through which means I gotta get all the notes and Jinjos and **** again which completely ruins my time.

Anyway it's fun to be really good at the game and show off for people :P

^Banjo Kazooie is one of the best games on the N64 and Banjo Tooie is probably one of the best sequels ever made. That and Ocarina of Time / Majoras Mask are very close.

I'd take BK/BT over the Zelda games any day. Probably not a popular opinion but platformers have always been my preference.

I'd probably say the same. Banjo Tooie is probably my favorite because maybe its just me, but it seemed to have a much darker theme to it and the new moves and massive levels were well done. Cloud Cuckoo land is an amazing level on its own as well. And Hail Fire Peaks. Man.

My only problem with Tooie is that there's a metric ****ton of backtracking for a lot of the jiggies. For instance you'll have to go get Mumbo, do something, go turn back to Banjo, go to Wumba and transform, go do something, go back to being Banjo again, etc etc etc. Just a lot of time where it feels like little is being accomplished. And then there's the crap like that one pool for pigs where you have to do stuff in like 4 different worlds to acquire one single jiggy.

I agree though the atmosphere, level design overall, and gameplay were all better in Tooie. Both all-time great games but hard to pick which I like more

The backtracking is a popular complaint which I also agree with. I think they wanted to sort of make the world feel more connected instead of feeling linear. If there were more reward for the backtracking, it would've been better. Skeleton grunty is awesome as well.

The final skeleton Grunty fight is great too, I've always hated Banjo Kazooie's final boss, probably because of the amount of times I've died during that stupid flying section where you have to beak bomb her on the broom. **** that section.

What about the jinjo section at the near end of the fight? And powering up the big jinjo was always hard. But oh so satisfying if you did it.
