You'll know Frownland is agitated when he stops being pretentious. He's quite level-headed ATM.

I was pretty blitzed last night, but I do stand by the point that having taste in humour versus having no taste will lead to you liking less comedians. Someone with no taste (and that's not an insult, it's not the same as saying you have bad taste, dust that you don't have tastebuds to begin with) is also more likely to enjoy hack comedians like Dunham.

Every so often I binge-watch the Garfunkel & Oates Netflix TV series.

Paul Smeenus 04-23-2016 05:46 PM

I love these girls

I generally don't like musical comedy, and they aren't an exception.

The Comedy Vehicle is back baby!

Bill Burr is amazingly funny, travelling to attend one of his standup acts was the best decisions I've ever made.

The all-time musical comedy (one of them at least)

I saw Daniel Tosh's people pleaser comedy special and thought it was great. His show Tosh.o has made him a bit overrated and a bit of a tool but his stand up is still pretty solid.

One of his most memorable joke from that special was

"Don't put a bumper sticker in your car. No matter what it says all it reads is "im poor""

Key 06-11-2016 01:12 AM

Demetri Martin gets my vote. I enjoy sarcastic humor.

I wasn't aware that he had his own show, but his standup is pretty solid IMO.

He has one of those web shows where he shows clips from the web and makes fun of them.

I guess this means I won't be invited to the nerdy-chic table during lunch period, eh?

I love his standup and wish he would put that kind of effort into his show instead of always doing hit or miss shock humour.

I think he knows how dumb that show is but he exploits it cause it's a fairly popular show. His stand up on the other hand has gotten more clever and less idiotic, as you said, it's very apparent he's putting more effort into his stand up than into his web show, and can you really blame him? It woulda been like Bob Saget giving it his all on America's funniest home videos, Its not worth it.

I enjoy Dane Cook especially with how much I love Employee of the Month. Then again, every role in that movie was fantastic.

You like Dane Cook and Adam Sandler? You are the worst.

Yeah, it's so weird that I go away from the popular opinion on a forum where people act like they hate something when in fact they actually love it.

Love him like Dane Cook loves stealing jokes or love him like Adam Sandler loves making schlock for money?

You guys will dismiss comedy but you'll lose your **** over music that sounds like it was made with trash cans and 20 year old microphones. I don't understand you guys.

Frownland 06-13-2016 11:41 AM

Have you ever seen a good comedy, Ki? It gets a lot better than Adam Sandler, I promise.

I would rather listen to Frownland rub a cheesegrater down the side of a trash can while farting a Beefheart song and slapping his dick against a xylophone than watch any Adam Sandler made in the last 15 years (except Punch-Drunk Love.)

Frownland 06-13-2016 11:48 AM

What you describe would be crazy entertaining and I don't think anybody would want to miss it.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 06-13-2016 11:50 AM

If you ever need a music video done I think filming that would be a huge step in avant-garde film making.

Black Francis 06-13-2016 12:12 PM

What's with the Dane cook hate? he's not the 1st nor the last comic who ever stole a joke and he's not the only comic who has stolen from Louis CK, Denis Leary did it too.

Some would argue Denis stole Bill hicks whole act as well and some would argue that even Louis CK steals joke from time to time too.

Funny people was pretty good too.

Frownland 06-13-2016 01:04 PM

See I don't dislike Dane Cook because he steals from other people. Bill Burr borrows from Carlin and Brian Regan and he's still one of my favourites. The issue I have with Dane Cook is that he tries really hard to convince you that he's a hilarious guy, but his jokes say otherwise.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 06-13-2016 01:45 PM

Ya stolen jokes isn't the only reason why I don't like him. He just doesn't make me laugh, like, ever so I have a hard time listening to him.

I've seen one pretty funny Dane Cook routine. The rest have been pretty horrible.
