Lmao dude you're dreaming. Even if he didn't, obsessive anti-PC dorks like yourself are doing a great job of it for him.

If he was doing press tours on the threat to comedy in a serious tone, that would fit. Instead he did what a comedian does and worked it into his act. Social commentary has always been part of comedy and usually, if a comedian addresses their own controversies directly on stage, this is seen as an appropriate response.
Double lmao at thinking that Chappelle offered any unique or valuable social commentary in his special.

I don't think I painted him as a martyr either. I do love how you can't get over me liking the special despite your disapproval.

Whatever you'd like to tell yourself.

How does you painting him as a martyr run counter to you liking the special? They go hand in hand as far as I can tell.

When did I paint him as a martyr? He's a triumphant champion, not a martyr.

Frownland 10-31-2019 06:50 PM

Jacking off to him totes pwning the PC bogeyman that you already had a hate boner for has the air of championing him as a martyr for the harsh and traumatic criticism he got from those meanie critics.

jwb 10-31-2019 07:00 PM

Maybe you don't know what a martyr is

When someone attacks you and you attack them back and pwn them, you're not a martyr

You're only a martyr when you fall on your sword for your cause

My whole point about Chappelle from the beginning is that he has ****-you money which allows him to cross lines with relative impunity, where other comics wouldn't able to. This gives him more freedom.

Beyond that, your understanding of what I like about the special is simplistic to say the least... I don't like it just cause he "pwned" his PC critics. I like the way he played with the common narrative and kept straddling both sides as to keep you guessing, and above all I liked single funny lines with a good delivery.

So I just saw a video on YouTube saying norm MacDonald's show on Netflix is cancelled.

Then there's a clip of Joe rogan & Sam Harris taking about the Louis ck defense and how that got him in trouble...

I'll be honest. I don't think the Louis ck comments helped endear him to the right people at all. But the Netflix show was a bust. I'm a huge fan of his and I've only seen a few episodes cause it's just boring run of the mill late-night interview type ****.

The real travesty is that he ditched his podcast/YouTube show, pulled all the episodes off YouTube in order to pursue this Netflix deal. Now it's a bust and he wants go back to podcasting but can't cause his contract with Netflix prevents him.

Should've stuck with the old show. Trying to bring it to a wider audience via Netflix was the biggest mistake he'll ever make.

Ja his podcast stuff is way better, but I thought it was pretty funny how little of a **** he gave about the Netflix show because Netflix tried to put a container on his content. They clearly came to him with a big check and he was like aight whatever. I bet it just underperformed as well, I didn't watch all of them and I'm pretty into him.
