I chalked his weight gain and generally rough lookingness up to aging when it came out, but it seems like he's in pain on this episode . I wonder how different his career would be if he wasn't facing cancer for nine years, his recent stuff has a higher grade of don'tgivea****itude where he really shined.

Doing comedy when your audience knows you have cancer is impossible. Every laugh you get you would chalk up to pity.

My favorite UK comedian, Sean Lock, who died of cancer a month ago, made the exact same choice. Only a few close friends knew he was ill.

Seems in character. It would be super weird hearing anything serious, let alone a cancer prognosis, come out of Norm ****ing McDonald. His whole shtick speaks to being a very private person girl.

I think we're all a little bit of a private person girl. IMCHPO.

He had the vocal timbre of Bob Dylan.

Rodney Dangerfield is definitely underrated with the kids today.

Yessir. This is a brilliant observation posted in the comments:

Quote:
Norm once mentioned in some interview that the beauty of Dangerfield's delivery is the flash of pain in his eyes after each joke.
