Everyone who doesn't like Chapelle tacitly supports bullying people to death, got it.

Your response came across to me as knee jerk which is why i was just clarifying what i heard... Which is not to say nothing he did or said can be ridiculed but that it wasn't just i have a trans friend therefore I'm not transphobe... But people on both sides selectively care and don't care i think a lot of it is posturing.. Like why are people more concerned with Chappelle supposedly pulling the trans friend card than they are with the fact that maybe she was bullied into suicide... Seems like precisely the sort of thing people would usually be concerned about

Are most people even aware of his friend? I imagine him bringing it up is the first time most people are hearing about it and given the circumstances he's not exactly a reliable source. Besides, how do you suggest we self-police social media? We can't even police comedians.

jwb 10-14-2021 01:31 PM

I'm not suggesting you can or anything but isn't that part of the larger conversation about transphobia that they have higher rates of that sort of thing.... Obviously he might have his own motives for bringing it up and you can question that but you should also at the very least keep in mind that these online backlash campaigns are not always so harmless either

Can't believe Dave killed his friend like that.

jwb 10-14-2021 03:30 PM

Your trolling attempts are getting lazier by the post Frownland

Trans jokes are played out. You'll never own them as hard as the universe already has.

We're all well aware they're not. I don't think anybody rolling their eyes at cancel culture rhetoric isn't aware that social media dogpiles can actually hurt people who aren't celebrities and rich people. It's well documented and understood and God damn it would be great if we could actually do something about it. But it's a different conversation than celebrities and rich people using their platforms to cause harm with seeming impunity. Which is why it's frustrating when celebrities and rich people conflate these issues to distract from their own harmful activities.

See I know he's going to backpedal about how I'm misconstruing what he just said but after the whole calling the Wachowskis trannies incident I know he's a scumbag who knows what he's doing and should be banned for hate speech.

Marie Monday 10-14-2021 05:32 PM

I'm not banning anyone but Ant should stop making dumb and tasteless jokes about trans people
