Does his yarmulke drip or does it crunch?

What's even the context of that picture? He's holding a 2x4 and showing his receipt...is he talking about how great the prices are and how hard the wood is compared to communist-infiltrated Lowes or something?

I vaguely recall people boycotting Home Depot or something

Ah makes sense.

I can't believe people take Ben Shapiro seriously. Ignoring his politics, the dude is just completely annoying. Though I did love his cover of WAP. That was a certified hood classic.

It's literally just an extension of the "YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND ME DAD SO SHUT UP" phase of adolescence. It's bullsh*t. You should always at least hear out another person from a different makeup even if you disagree with them.
I don't see it as entitled "pussy ass attitude", I see it as the most logical attitude. How can you possible judge the effect something offensive has on a group of people if you don't share their experiences? I don't know the first thing about what it's like to be a black person in America, but I listen and read and try to understand their problems and it would be the last thing on my mind to comment to them about whether they should or shouldn't find something offensive if a large portion of them do. Same for trans people. I'm not trans but since a lot of them took quite a big offense about this latest standup I can only sympathize. It seems very very dismissive in a situation like this to weigh in and say, hey, actually, I, who have no idea what it's like to be trans and all the prejudice and obstacles they have to deal with on a daily basis, don't think this special is problematic. I listen to what they have to say about it since they are impacted by it.

The point is that I don't automatically think it's "offensive" just because I disagreed.
Of course you don't, you're not trans or gay, why would you think it's offensive?
Quote:
I also don't feel anybody should be offended IF THEY ACTUALLY WATCH THE STANDUP because Dave goes a pretty long way to explain how he realizes he's ignorant and doesn't understand yet still has had human interaction and experience that lead towards respect and acceptance.
Newsflash, many trans people watched the standup and were very offended. And now you're invalidating their feelings and telling them to lighten up. Again, it's not your business to tell a group of people targeted by jokes based on prejudice how they should feel about them.
Quote:
Then there's the whole "comedy" thing, which will perk Big3's ears right up, and I'll tell you right now without going long that jokes are allowed to be told on a stage about pretty much anything because it's a legitimate art form and a way explore ideas and concepts that are considered taboo.
You'd have the same argument about racist comics?
Quote:
That being said....did you actually watch it? Or did you just read "texts" telling you how you should feel about it?
Of course I didn't, I made it pretty clear here that I stopped paying attention to that guy some years and a few specials ago when he was already churning out problematic material with regards to queer and trans people which I didn't find funny at all. I'm not going to add numbers to Netflix' statistics just so I can conclude the same thing I already did many moons ago. But you're also missing the point. What I did here was simply to report what has happened. I didn't comment on whether the special was offensive, and it absolutely doesn't matter what I think of it. I'm not trans (although I am gay and that bit you related about Kevin Heart would have probably upset me, since if the shoe was on the other foot and we were speaking about a white "comic" who just happened to use "ni**er" a few times in his past, it would absolutely not be brushed away or excused by anybody, least of all black people).

I'll just be over here doing cis white guy stuff. I'll check in later. If anybody wants to discuss Breaking Bad, Ford F150s, or golf, I'll be over here. Just wanna stay in my lane and not encroach on anything not related to my identity markup.
That's probably smarter, yes.

Man, I wish I was trans or gay so I could finally figure out when things are offensive to trans or gay people and when they are not.

I guess I'll just never know since I'm neither of those things.
