That was the point. He was clearly autistic. Awkward one moment, but when things don't go his way, out comes a burst of irrational anger.

It's funny I was just about to say I was curious if the writers intended for Fisk to come across as someone with a case of autism.

It was pretty obvious to me. It makes comic book sense, as certain autistics would possibly be excellent when it comes to the logistics of crime, the self-absorption and lack of empathy could mimic sociopathy in the right conditions, while leaving the people side to his assistant.
