Took my nephew to see Karate Kid when it first came out. Packed theater standing ovation at the end. So cool.

Drove into Boston and saw Caligula with Linda when we were both only 19. So surreal.

(cool drive home though)

Waaaay back in the day. Independence Day. They oversold the theater and allowed people to bring their own chairs and food in side. It was a madhouse, and everyone was cheering like crazy. It was awesome haha

I went to see the Evil Dead remake in theaters and it was just an amazing experience it really was meant to be watched on a giant screen. Such a great remake it's hard to do that with a cult classic.

I was 17 or so and took my girlfriend to see a movie. Oh what a mistake :D I was trying to impress her so we went to a small cinema to see .. well, I didn't know what it was, really. But it was European and didn't have any explosions or whatnot, seemed like a good find.
It was "The Piano Teacher". It was a mistake. If you saw it, you know why. If you haven't... well, it's a movie about a disturbed piano teacher that is extremely sexually frustrated and tries to satisfy her urges in the weirdest sm ways.
Or at least that's how I read it then.
We didn't even kiss. We left the movie theater without holding hands. It all was.. awkward.
Luckily then we got drunk and all the awkwardness disappeared ;) But still... I don't know if it was my favorite movies experience, but for sure the most memorable :D

Kissing ensued, three years of relationship followed.

Oh we weren't prudes, not by any standard. In fact I have yet to meet a girl with a mind dirtier than hers ;) We were just.. caught off guard. Completely.

I'm just bragging about having had a GF with a good taste in movies anyway.

Watching E.T. in the theatre as a kid was somewhat memorable. As was Star Wars. But neither are what I'd call truly memorable. At the end of the day, I don't think stories - whether told via movie, book or videogame, can be that memorable, not relative to genuine experiences anyway.
But I'm digressing. I'll go with E.T.

When i was 16 or so my aunt took me to a film festival that was showing Princess Mononoke. She didn't tell me what movie we were gonna see she just said it was a foreign film so i didn't know what to expect but to my surprise, it was an anime movie and at that time i was crazy for anime. i thought my aunt didn't like that sort of animation but as i watched the film i started to realise why she liked it, It was a Miyasaki flick.

At the time i didn't know who the hell Miyasaki was but it was very apparent this film had a cross over appeal, that is to say than it was more than just an anime movie aimed for anime fans, it was a fantasy film that anybody could enjoy regardless of their age.

This is one of my favorite movie experiences cause the whole thing was so unexpected plus cause it introduced me to Miyasaki's work.

Went to see Zombieland with a bunch of friends when it came out. That was a lot of fun.
