Video Game Sequels You Wish Would Happen

There's a lot of times when i'm playing a great game and I come to find out that a sequel to said game was never made. This could be both standalone sequels, and direct sequels. And if you want to mention prequels, you can.

Here's a few that come to mind for me:

Knights of the Old Republic III
The first two games were fantastic, and I really don't consider Star Wars The Old Republic to be anything but a standalone game. A lot of people consider it to be the final game in the KOTOR series, but that is just not even close to accurate. We need a genuine third installment in the KOTOR series, just so I have an excuse to play through the first two again to refresh my memory of the storyline etc.

Fable IV
After the release of Fable III, I feel like Lionhead Studios have gone in a completely different direction with the Fable series that is a little bit unpopular to a lot of people, myself included. Granted, I haven't even played any of the Fable games that have been released after the third game, but that's more due to the fact that it just looks completely different and not as focused on what the first three games focused on. I'm sure they're great games, but I'd really like to see what Lionhead Studios could do if they had the opportunity to make a fourth installment.

Borderlands III
Don't even bother bringing up the Borderlands: The Pre Sequel argument into this, because I don't count that as a sequel, even though it's technically a prequel, whatever. The first two Borderlands games were amazing. Great stories, great characters, great guns. Borderlands: The Pre Sequel however was not. I tried to really get into it and play it for what it was, but it just didn't have the same charm that the first two games had. They need to make a third installment of the game and have it be revolved around the same settings as the first two did, or if anything, on the same planet.

A lot of the other games that I wanted to talk about here are apparently or have already gotten sequels made for them. Ones that aren't mentioned above would include Enclave, Munch's Oddysee HD, Outlast 2, HomefrontL The Revolution, and a lot more.

Pilot wings Wii

Zach and wiki 2

I can't think of many because so many games have sequals and thirds and 4ths

I like new ideas and fresh ip's

Super Mario Bros.
This game has been mostly forgotten since the 80s but it was pretty great. I think they could probably squeeze a few more ideas out of the concept and make a decent sequel.

Mario Galaxy 3. Dark Souls III.

Janzoon, check out Mario Maker for Wii U:

Undying 2 would be great. Probably mostly for nostalgic reasons.
I haven't played the game in years, but I loved it as a teenager.
It was one of the first PC games I ever played.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2

As good as the two official expansions were and as awesome as it is to have a very dedicated mod community to the original game, I still really wish Shadows of Chernobyl got the sequel it deserved. More solid story structure, more interesting sidequests, faction wars, and other additions that were added to the game through the expansions, and a more reliable engine and we could have truly had an atmospheric and deep FPS action RPG. I know a decent amount of the original dev team went on to add elements that were supposedly in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 in the free-to-play multiplayer FPS Survivarium, but the idea of a multiplayer deathmatch in a S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-esque world never appealed to me.

Even in this age of Kickstarter and fucking Shaq-Fu 2, I doubt this game will ever see the light of day.

Portal 2 would be pretty cool.

Have Valve stopped making games now Steam makes them more money than they know what to do with? Nobody makes first person shooters like they do, Counterstrike, TF2, Half Life, L4D, these games ain't been bettered in my opinion.

If they start releasing their games exclusively on their upcoming Steam Box, I'll have to get one.

I'd be so happy if this ever happened. Without Rare however, I don't know what kind of game or success it would be or have. Especially since Banjo Tooie is easily one of the best sequels to any game series.

Key 08-10-2015 11:57 AM

And on that note, I think we need a reboot of Diddy Kong Racing for the newer systems with online play. That'd be lots of fun.

Yeah. What I've heard from the beginnings of the soundtrack so far it also sounds a lot like Banjo Kazooie:

Yep I supported during their Kickstarter. Extremely excited for it although they'd have to really knock it out of the park to feel as magical as Banjo

Age of Empires 4, but I know it won't happen with Ensemble being disbanded by Microsoft right after Halo Wars.

But I get where you're coming from. The two are very different from each other, and another open world Western like Redemption would be amazing.

I think they are planning on making a sequel for RDR for the Ps4 along with Bully 2.

Personally i want to see a sequel to Nocturne, the SMT franchise has alot more to offer than just Persona. I also want to see a sequel for Pitball, a futuristic sport game for the Ps1 few ppl played.
