At least now I don't need to hear people bitch about Leo not having an Academy Award anymore. It's a shame that he won the award for the stipulations surrounding the film rather than his performance though.

And I don't know which film Brad Pitt should have won for. I just know that he deserves one.
No, because Ida won some stuff last year. It's just a horribly America-centric way for Hollywood to jerk itself off that largely fails to recognize that film was, is and always will be an international medium.

Other countries awards shows are the same. It's no big deal.

Well we have a foreign film category because apparently those weird foreigners can make movies too!

And Pitt could've gotten it for a lot of films, Inglorious Basterds, Babel, 12 Monkeys, and Se7en.

Yes. I meant to add "among others" as well because the list could go on and on.

That synth to me sounds like one of the super generic cheap 100$ keyboards with built in speakers.

Proof that you don't need expensive equipment to make great music.

Very surprised that Spotlight won Best Picture, most people thought The Revenant had it in the bag. Not sure where I sit on this one. I loved Spotlight and I thought The Revenant was a major achievement in terms of getting the most of the actors and the environment, but Spotlight was an extremely tight, cohesive, well shot, and well acted movie too, certainly more streamlined and refined than The Revenant, which seemed to bore a lot of my friends, but those same friends were also bored by Spotlight so I don't know.
