DO you like to joke through movies?

Like MST3K? And which are our favorite ones to talk through?

Blade Runner's awesome, but I love to talk through it. Even the opening credits are somehow easy to make fun of.

Paul Smeenus 01-18-2016 10:08 AM

I like MST3K, but my interest in audience participation generally ends right there.

Having said that, funny is funny, someone could prove me wrong.

grindy 01-18-2016 10:15 AM

Joking through so-bad-it's-good-movies? Sure, joke away.
But talking a lot while watching anything else? I'm sure there's a special place in hell for you.

This might be juuuuuuust a little overstated, grindy, mebbe just a special place in "gochdarnit I'm tryin' to watch a movie, bub" :)

I would murder you if you tried that while we were watching Blade Runner.

It goes without saying that it was very strong hyperbole.
I'm surprisingly peaceful and polite in real life.

Paul Smeenus 01-18-2016 10:38 AM

^ Actually I would douse the place with kerosene and burn it to the ground with everyone in it.

grindy 01-18-2016 11:01 AM

That's extreme. Just kill the yapping ****ers quickly and continue watching in blissful silence.
It's really hard to watch a movie, especially night scenes, when the place is burning.

Through movies? No, but the x-GF watches a lot of ****ty tv I make fun of. Any reality crap, or sensationalistic drama is always subject to sarcastic remarks and the like.

OP: If you like MST3K, try out some Mad Movies. The L.A. Connection were pioneers in this vein of comedy. There's quite a few old episodes out there on YouTube.

https://www.youtube.com/results?sear...ion+mad+movies

I also started a thread on it, but it sank to the briny deep a long time ago.

That's just plain mad. :/

Maybe if I am watching it on cable, that's almost inevitable. My uncle is good for telling what movies each actor played in, it's like watching a movie with imdb. We can talk through the whole movie about who played in what movie with whom etc etc.

However in a theater I really don't want to hear a conversation during a movie. There plenty of time to rip on a movie after it's over, which my friends do all the time. They repeat dialog and tell you all the things ridiculous things that happen. If you have time to waste on the internet check out CinemaSins, it's plenty good for that. https://www.youtube.com/user/CinemaSins

Can't stand MST3K and can't stand people talking while a film is on. That's part of why I don't like MST3K, but I also just never found them funny or clever at all. And I'm usually an easy sell, especially for comedy.

I guess you've forgotten that a crazy person made that sign because he was all upset that I beat him to a parking spot & he left that on the window of my car.

Or were you knowingly correcting someone that has never been to this forum? Either one is pretty silly. And a piss-poor trolling attempt. Whatevz...

Well, neither. Don't get me wrong, Batty, if you get me, I'll give you your props. You just have to troll better than that. Up your game, bruh.

The Batlord 01-18-2016 07:21 PM

I wasn't trolling you, you bald retard. I was trolling the pic.

Kind of an egomaniac, aren't you?

See? How can anyone possibly have any hair? That wouldn't be fair.

So what you're saying is that if you can't have hair, no one can?

I don't have hair either. Hair is for hippies and communists.

Don't fret Paul, women like men with a clean shaven scalp a lot more than men with swoop overs. What's not fair is your shirt, it's stretched beyond bacon neck.

Frownland 01-19-2016 09:41 AM

I usually only do the occasional snide comment or none at all. Really depends on the type of movie.

Pretty much the same thing you do on MusicBanter, cool beans.

Mr. Charlie 01-20-2016 12:36 PM

No.
If I'm enjoying a movie I keep quiet.
If I'm not enjoying a movie then I turn it off/leave the room.

GuD 01-20-2016 06:47 PM

Yes. I'm the worst person to watch anything with, I joke, i critique, I yawn... I'm awful.

RoxyRollah 01-20-2016 08:52 PM

Oh my god me too....unless its gripping. Then stfu.

Beatbyheart 01-30-2016 04:58 AM

Yes I like to joke around and maybe start a whole conversation while watching a movie it gets to the point of people having to shut me down by throwing stuff at me .what ? I love to analyze things...?

If you did, I'd call the cops. And yes, I meant what I said, so figure it out.

I usually do it alone, and I don't bother people during a movie.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is another easy one.

Oh, and has anybody heard of Rifftrax? MST3K selling audio copies of them talking therough movies. You have to buy the movie seperately, though. They have one for Willy Wonka.

I don't think you understand the concept of post-murdered.

Depends on the movie

I don't think you understand the concept of someone referring to exactly that in the very next sentence he writes.

It doesn't make the first sentence any more sensical.
