I've heard good things.

bob. 12-13-2016 09:36 PM

i'll be drinking a 32 oz dogfish head IPA to wash that popcorn down and reclining in my lazy boy....nothing better than having a "Luxury" theater in town

every review is nothing but praise....my personal favorite is "if you love Darth Vader...this was made for you"

:)

They...they serve 32 ounce glasses there or what? Never met a dogfish head beer I didn't recommend to all my friends.

bob. 12-13-2016 09:59 PM

yes.....fun story

the theater actually opened on my birthday a couple years ago and is this areas only iMax theater....i think there are 12 theaters and only the iMax is stadium seating....all the other theaters are all recliners with assigned seating.

anyways....my friend had asked if i wanted to go see Robocop at the new theater for my birthday and although i had no interest in seeing it....i agreed it would be fun....we both had heard that this theater would serve beer and wine and i honestly thought it would be bottles of primarily domestic with maybe Sam Adams or Sierra Nevada....but when we got there they had 15 taps and one was Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA....when i ordered and the young woman asked what size...i almost dies when she said they have 32 oz beers

the manager told me that they are thinking of having a revolving sour on tap now.....joy.

I got tickets to a 8pm showing but woot woot can't wait!

bob. 12-15-2016 11:51 PM

Oh My Satan.

Rouge One is to the Star wars saga like what Aliens is to the Alien saga.

i'm thinking second favorite in the entire set of films. by the end of the weekend after two more views it may be my favorite.

djchameleon 12-16-2016 04:11 AM

I will say kind of weak first half but second half more than makes up for it.

Would've been nice to spoiler this as I didn't really want to know whether the first half was good or not.

djchameleon 12-16-2016 02:57 PM

You will come up with your own opinion of it. You have read reviews that stated details of real spoilers.

I haven't read any reviews actually. I only heard through the grapevine that the movie did well. I'm staying away from them so my experience is pure.

You heard through the grapevine about a real spoiler though.

Thelonious Monkey 12-16-2016 04:10 PM

Spoiler for are you sure?:
Spoiler for are you positively sure?:
Spoiler for are you definitely sure?:
It was an Italian opera where everyone dies, but they somehow brought Peter Cuching back to life.

Better than Empire Strikes Back? Seriously? I just got back and I'll definitely put it over A New Hope, and it can compete with Return of the Jedi, but no way it's better than Empire.

K-2SO is definitely superior to C-3PO though.

bob. 12-19-2016 08:12 AM

Yes. seriously. going again on Tuesday

Spoiler for spoiler:
How bout dat last scene with Vader tho? I was worried that all the talk was lies, but then it was just awesomeness. Like, exactly what I always wanted in a Vader scene. I just wished it was a bit longer.

Spoiler for Spoils:
I feel they made that scene just to make up for people complaining about when we last saw Vader?

Spoiler for It was:
Sure it was but I was like fan service, I see what you did right there.

bob. 12-21-2016 07:54 AM

Spoiler for spoiler:
The Vader scene had to happen....and yes was so ****ing bad ass. What about the star destroyer blocking the rebels from going into hyperspace?...the last 40 minutes is Star Wars epic

This being said.....i watched it again last night after calming down. And while Rogue One is easily one of the best films in the franchise....it is not better than Empire :)

I'll probably go again in a few weeks

djchameleon 12-21-2016 08:13 AM

lol what number viewing are you up to?

Five? or is the next one going to be fifth?

I'm getting my second viewing either later on today or tomorrow matinee.

Plankton 12-21-2016 08:16 AM

I took the daughter and GF to see it in 3D, and I was totally blown away.

djchameleon 12-21-2016 08:16 AM

Yeah I need to hit up an IMAX showing of it before it's gone.

Plankton 12-21-2016 08:19 AM

I'm now spoiled. I don't think I can watch a movie in 2D anymore.

bob. 12-21-2016 08:22 AM

next is five :)

Not all 3D movies are made the same way. You'll come across some 3D movies that are pretty awful and you wish that you would have just watched it in 2D instead. Some edit it in as an after thought while others are shot in 3D during filming. The editing has gotten slightly better over the years but meh it's kind of hit or miss depending on the movie you go to see. Unless you are speaking of the IMAX experience then yeah it's pretty top notch.

I figured as much, it was more of a statement on how much I enjoyed it. I'm sure they had the 3D tech in mind when they decided on some of the shots for this one, but I can see some money grubbing producer porting 3D tech to something that wasn't meant for it just to kick a few more dollars out.

...and lol at this:
