Honestly I didn't mind Delphox (Fennekin's final), I liked his design and his typing. His signature move was a major let down though. Then again, the only time I ever really cared about a fire starter was with the Cyndaquil line. I'm going with Rowlett this time.

I dunno, Delphox just seemed very uncreative to me, but I chose Greninja during my playthrough, so that's my bias. However, X and Y was far too easy anyway, so I suppose it wouldn't really matter. My last favorite evolution line was with Totodile, so we are alike in that regard. Feraligatr is such a beast.

I'm not sure who i'm going with yet, but I love cats so I may go with the fire starter.

Greninja was the best from that generation without a doubt. Typing, design, everything was just awesome.

For my my favorites from each are:
Gen 1: Squirtle Evolution Line.
Gen 2: Cyndaquil Evolution Line.
Gen 3: Treecko Evolution Line.
Gen 4: Turtwig Evolution Line.
Gen 5: Snivy Evolution Line.
Gen 6: Froakie Evolution Line.
Gen 7: Rowlett Evolution Line (So Far)

Mine would probably go like:
Gen 1: Squirtle Evolution Line.
Gen 2: Totodile Evolution Line.
Gen 3: Torchic Evolution Line. (Blaziken is a ****ing beast)
Gen 4: Chimchar Evolution Line.
Gen 5: Snivy Evolution Line.
Gen 6: Froakie Evolution Line.

I'm also of the opinion that Gen 3 had some of the best Pokemon in any of the games so far. It's also my favorite for a variety of reasons, including the music obviously.

In terms of Pokemon designs: Gen 3 > Gen 4 > Gen 2 > Gen 6 > Gen 5 = Gen 1
Although Gen 7 is definitely gonna be up there in the top three or four at least.

The Batlord 10-14-2016 01:24 PM

Charmander >>>> Bulbasaur > Squirtle

And Gen 1 and 2 def had the best designs. Everything after that started to get way too over designed and lame.

I could never really get into Diamond and Pearl for some reason. But I loved both Black and White and Black 2 and White 2.

Gen 1 and 2 certainly had some of the best, especially as far as Eeveelutions are concerned. However, gen 3 was an overall blast and every time I hear the music, I get nostalgic.

The Batlord 10-14-2016 01:29 PM

Gen 3 was where things started to go bad. The lines on the Pokemon started feeling too simple, streamlined, and stylized for me to believe that the Pokemon might actually be living creatures. It all started looking like Sonic the Hedgehog rejects.

I disagree, while there are some classic designs in Gen 1, I feel that they were far too simplistic in some cases. Gen 2 upped the designs for sure though.

Diamond and Pearl introduced Darkrai which is one of my biggest tattoos and hands down my favorite Pokemon ever, so I can't talk bad about that generation's designs.

Completely disagree, but that's again my bias since I absolutely love Gen 3.

The legendarys were really cool, but I feel like the game as a whole was really jam packed unnecessarily if that makes sense. The towns were unnecessarily huge with lots of unnecessary content. I never made it to the elite four in that one, so I wouldn't know what the pay off was like.

The Batlord 10-14-2016 01:46 PM

Well I'm biased as someone who lived through the 1st Wave of Pokemon American Infiltration, but the more natural designs of the earlier Pokemon just felt like things that might actually exist in some strange dimension, and considering how outlandish they were I'm giving them a lot of credit. But around Gen 3 was when suspension of disbelief started to really get hard.

BlackMalachite 10-14-2016 01:50 PM

Hey I lived through the 1st wave too, and started playing Pokemon basically when I was toddler starting with Gen 1, and it's still not one of my favorite gens, and is one of my least favorites overall actually.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 10-14-2016 01:56 PM

I don't think there's been a bad gen of Pokemon yet. The only thing that dictates which gen you prefer is nostalgia, honestly.

Key 10-14-2016 01:57 PM

My first game was Pokemon Blue, so that bias doesn't necessarily work, Bat.

It's going to be crammed full of content but I don't know about the good part. There are a **** ton of mini games and things like that. I keep seeing and that's most likely the bulk of the extra content that dwarfed the size to be over 3GB.

For my favorites from each Gen:
Gen 1: Bulbasaur Evolution Line.
Gen 2: Cyndaquil Evolution Line.
Gen 3: Torchic Evolution Line.
Gen 4: Chimchar Evolution Line. This is the only evolution I didn't get around to playing but if I did. I would pick Chimchar since I love monkey related Pokemon
Gen 5: Snivy Evolution Line.
Gen 6: Froakie Evolution Line.
Gen 7: Popplio Evolution Line (So Far)

Not really. Gen 1 is horrible bro. I started in Gen 1 with Pokemon Blue and without having a good IV/EV system it was pretty bad in hindsight.

The Batlord 10-14-2016 02:13 PM

Man you people have no taste. It's like talking to Naruto fans.

djchameleon 10-14-2016 02:16 PM

Naruto fans are the worse though.

Not only do I have an avatar from Naruto Shippuden, but I also have the Uchiha Clan symbol and the Akatsuki cloud symbol from Naruto tattooed on me.

Tristan_Geoff 10-14-2016 04:09 PM

I like Naruto. I'm on episode 32ish and I've been trying to get into it repeatedly every year.

Nostalgia doesn't necessirly mean the first one you played. For example, the first Pokemon game I had was Yellow but Gen 3 was my favourite because I put so much time into and remember it so well.

Gen 3 has the best designs, best world, one of the best storylines, etc

Key 10-14-2016 04:56 PM

Not to mention the best elite four music.

Key 10-20-2016 03:27 PM

Alright, now it's getting ridiculous.

I've never played a Pokemon game in my life, but I've always wanted to.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 10-20-2016 05:20 PM

You can't end your childhood until you've played at least one.

I'd watch that. Pokemon Platinum is fun.

I don't know how I'd deal with grinding though. Watching the same battles over and over again can't be that great.

If that's the case, you could record it instead? I'd watch a playthrough of it on youtube if you did it.

djchameleon 10-27-2016 11:21 AM

Final evolution forms of the starter Pokemon.

Key 10-27-2016 11:26 AM

I'm actually really annoyed with the final evolutions, specifically:

http://www.serebii.net/sunmoon/incineroar.png

Just keep him on 4 feet period for ****s sake. They looked extremely promising up until this point and now I have no idea who I want to choose.

djchameleon 10-27-2016 11:35 AM

yeah, I thought the whole two legs thing was kind of weird but it works for the owl guy but not so much for the fire kitty.

Also my starter pick just got better the entire time. The seal, she's perfect the way she is through all of her evolution.

YorkeDaddy 10-31-2016 12:09 PM

I still love the owl. Easy pick. Grass/Ghost typing is great too

crukster 11-17-2016 08:00 AM

I'm getting Sun, although the whole nocturnal thing appealed to me I like Solgaleo and some of the version exclusives. I pre-ordered it with a special edition 2ds! I had like, Yellow, Silver, Ruby, Diamond, Soulsilver, White, Y now Sun. I still have Yellow, Silver and Ruby. I've got Pokemon Stadium and Stadium 2 for N64 which is really cool for 3D battles. :D I'm 26 and I still play it, but I don't have the energy to play it to the max.

I think I'm gonna pick litten because Incineroar is so cool. I did want a Popplio, but it's final evolution looks like a girly mermaid.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 11-18-2016 10:53 AM

Just picked up my copy, couldnt decide which one I wanted so I ended up just grabbing Sun. Anyone start yet?
