Pokemon: Sun and Moon
 

Yes, i'm 25 years old, and I still want to talk about Pokemon. I'm not embarrassed by it, and nobody should ever feel like they are.

I know there's already a Pokemon thread, but I want to talk about the new games coming out specifically and I'm curious if anybody else here is as excited as I am. I'm also curious to know which starters people will be choosing, etc.

I'm looking forward to being able to have a fire cat for my starter, and it just looks ****ing badass:

Have you decided what game you'll be getting yet? I thought I wanted Moon, but I think I prefer Sun's legendary (even though Lunala still looks awesome.) I'll probably end up with both of them anyway, but it's a tough decision on which one to get first.

I'm probably going with Sun because I've always had a weird "fanship" of legendary's that belong on the ground, or have legs. That's how I was with Groudon, and the legendary dogs, etc etc. Plus, Solgaleo looks super badass.

always hyped for a new core series pokemon game. i'll probably end up buying moon and starting off with popplio.

I don't know about you, but I'm really digging the new Pokemon, especially Popplio. Going Moon because I love the moon, and bats are one of my favorite animals.

I'm not goth.

I love the new starters. A lot of people have been saying they lack character or individuality, but they're some of the most different starters we've seen in a pokemon game. They've never done a seal-esque starter for a water type, and a fire cat? That's so cool. The grass type is a grass/flying hybrid, which I think is amazing. Super excited to see what their evolved forms are going to be.

My bro calls Magearna "Nico Robot."

Magearna is pretty badass. I'm excited to see how it plays into the game.

Also, is Cutiefly the most adorable ****ing thing ever?

I haven't played a Pokemon game since Red/Blue.. How do they explain the appearance of all these new Pokemon?

As much as I like cats. I can't pick the fire kitten. I hate fire types as starters. Most likely going with the seal. He gets so much hate. So I have to pick him. Picking up a copy of Moon. When this comes out, we should revive the friend codes thread. So we can battle each other and make trades.

You could play the other games. Some Say Gold and Silver are better, and the remakes are better than those.

They explain the appearance of new Pokemon by switching up the region that you play in each time.

Each region is also modeled off of somewhere in the world irl. I haven't looked in that too much to tell you exactly which is which though.

there's been a bunch of speculation of there being a fire-type cubone/marowak. all of this coming about from the bio of one of the characters:

cubone's my favorite pokemon, so this could be cool. if this turns out to be true, then i'm interested in seeing which other pokemon receive the alola form makeover

^if you look on the Serebii page, a lot of polemon are getting the Aloha effect. I.e. Ice type Vulpix/Ninetales and Sandshrew/Sandslash. Exeggutor is also becoming a dragon type. This games gon'b'gud.

I'm very excited. There's a lot of new mechanics that we've seen from the videos. I'll probably get Moon first.

And as for the starter Pokemon, I'll pick the underdog (or seal). Most Water Starters turn from cute to monstrous anyway.

Pokémon Sun & Moon - New Pokémon

My starter pokemon is going to be based off of whoever the first gym leader is.

That's always the way I have picked my starters.

It is the reason why I went with Bulbasaur in Blue so many years ago.

Originally I wanted Litten but I'm going more towards Poplio or whatever it's name is. I've always had good experiences with water types. Especially Mudkip. Swampert is a tank.

I was leaning towards Popplio because I thought he was super cute but I need more info on that first gym leader. I normally go either water or grass. I went water for Pokemon X/Y.

^ I did as well. Greninja is amazing. Plus the other two designs for their last evolution weren't amazing.

9 times out of 10 I just go with the cute starter. By the time I'm nearing the end of the gyms I tend to use my starter much less anyway, so it's usually more of just a placeholder. Still leaning towards Litten as of now.

oh god I know. I took fennekin because im a fire-first kinda guy and hell its a cool fox to boot but damn I kept that thing unevolved until like lvl 70

I'm not picking a starter until I see the final evolutions/typings. If the Owl learns Fly while fully evolved I'll probably go with that because finding a decent Pokemon that can use Fly can be a pain sometimrs

How disloyal of you to phase out your starter.
My starter stays with me all the way through the Final Four. My starter is my ride or die that has been there with me from the beginning so of course it should get to see the finale and help me achieve my final goal. My day one!

Yeah Greninja is hot ****, I loved that dude. He was definitely my MVP. I ended up giving him Surf as well.
