Video games that would make excellent TV shows
I don't know about you but I have a feeling that Grand Theft Auto would make an excellent TV show. The first season would follow the storyline of Grand Theft Auto 1. The second season would follow Grand Theft Auto 2's story. Do you see the pattern? Everything would be in chronological order. There would be human actors rather than computer-animated characters.

Basically a secret agent gets betrayed and dumped by his superiors in Miami with no money, no security clearance, no contacts, no nothing. So he has to slowly build up an operation to figure out what's going on.
Except for the main character being a secret agent instead of a gangster it's surprisingly similar to the plots of most GTA games. |

As for the topic: http://debatstuk.blog.pl/files/2015/05/35254_2.jpg (in case you recognize the world, that's Dandelion, Geralt and Yennefer..) But this time preferably with a plot, with acting, with a budget, with decent special effects, with the atmosphere and witty dialogue.. you know, all the things that made the Witcher games/books stand out, that were sadly absent in this poor excuse for a tv show that came out years ago. No, it's not even "so bad it's good". it's simply embarrassing. GoT has shown everybody a well designed, very dark fantasy world can work, can be a success in more ways than one and can bring the studios a ton of money. Since there are only what, 2 seasons left ? I really hope the people behind it are looking in the direction of the Witcher. |

The Fallout series would make an excellent TV show. Like a post-apocalyptic game of thrones.

I'd be on board with a fallout and mass effect one but I also would like to see a shadowrun one. I'd like to see the world of shadowrun in a series cause it has a retro cyberpunk vibe not unlike the original Total recall but it also has shamans on its world so it has both magic and technology. Shadowrun also has a bit of a cult following so I'm sure i wouldn't be the only one watching it.

Manhunt.

I always thought that Doom would be a cool game to adapt into a movie.
|
So would be Mario bros.
|
The last fourth or whatever of Doom is fantastic.

Actually, I can see a good live-action Mario movie. The problem with the last one was that many of the characters and places were still being experimented on. The franchise is more set in stone now, so it's still possible.
Actually, if he were young enough, Ray Romano would've made a great Luigi. And Hulk Hogan would be a fantastic Bowser. |

Sonic would make a great one. Too bad we have five different ones and none of them are great in the good way.
