True Best Picture of the Year.

I enjoyed the discussions we were having around Best Picture each year and what we thought should have been Best Picture. Either from the nominations or just what our personal Best Picture was that year. So I feel like we should continue working through the years. Since we starting in the mid 00s. We will continue that and after we are done with this year then we will go back in time start from like the 60s or 70s depending on what the thread participants want to do.

2007's Best Picture Nominations.(bolded was the best picture winner that year)

Juno
No Country for Old Men
Antonement
Micheal Clayton
There Will Be Blood

What do you guys think? Was the winner will deserved or do you think something else should have won. What was your personal favorite film that year?

I think they got it right this year and No Country deserved it. There Will Be Blood is a really close second but I enjoyed No Country more.

Years already discussed:
2007
2003

2007 was a real close call for me....but i think There Will be Blood was the better film

tough one though

There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men are both perfect 10/10 films for me, and picking between the two is incredibly difficult. I guess I'd say they got the decision right, but if it had went to TWBB I would probably say the same thing.

Wait, so we're not actually discussing movies? We're just discussing whether they deserved to win or not?

Frownland 09-26-2016 09:50 AM

That's up to you.

There Will Be Blood is my favourite film. No Country for Old Men is only one of my favourite films so TWBB takes the edge.

Are we keeping score?

Yeah like Frown said, I left it completely open. You can discuss the movies themselves or discuss whether they deserved to win or not. Also you can include what your favorite film was that year especially if it wasn't nominated.

Do you feel like we need to keep score? Idk that seems a bit extra. If you want to personally keep score go ahead or maybe I might think of something to put into the OP to keep track.

I don't want to keep score. Who the f*ck cares about score. This isn't a JGuy thread and doesn't have to be.

Yeah, we don't want dj leaving the site for no other reason but for getting butthurt and being a furry.

Me and you both know that this thread needs some rules or it's going to be ****ing anarchy.
