I had about 90 notes and all the puzzle pieces and it would have been the first time I would have fully completed the level. Back then that level was tough to finish. My younger brother turned the system off before I could save and quit / finish the level.

I would've been livid. I'm pretty good at getting 100% through most of the game pretty quickly nowadays but Click Clock Wood is still very hard to get through without dying. There's soooo many ways to die in there

Just played it and I'm totally down to do a few matches with people here. The game runs really well.

I was pretty upset but then years later I finally 100% both Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie. Click Clock Wood is still tough though. That and Rusty Bucket Bay.

That's the best part of split screen though. There is even another multiplayer game titled specifically based off of that idea that you are going to look at your opponents screen to find out where they are. I can't think of the name of it but will look it up.

The name of it is ScreenCheat. Everyone is invisible so they encourage you to look at the other person's screen to find them and kill them.

I think I've seen that played, and I actually really liked the concept.

Good lord, Tomba had me damn near punching holes in the wall back then.

Crash Bandicoot 1, 2, and Warped
Twisted Metal 2
Legend of Dragoon
Tony Hawk Pro Skater
Spyro the Dragon 1 and 2
Road Rash 3D
Gran Turismo 2

That's where it's at for PS1 kids.

The Batlord 01-11-2017 10:23 AM

Tony Hawk for anything but the N64 just feels wrong to me.

Oriphiel 01-11-2017 11:12 AM

Parasite Eve, Silent Hill, Resident Evil 2 and 3, Majora's Mask, that weird ass Goemon game that was on the N64, Donkey Kong Country 3, Chameleon Twist, Clayfighters 64, Dino Crisis 2, and so many more. Plus, I used to go to the arcade and waste all my quarters on fighting games.

I was just old enough to remember the very tail end of the arcade lifestyle. Luckily that included Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter 2. Why can't hipsters bring that **** back? I don't care how douchey my opponent's beard is, I will tear that ass up.

I tried to get into Gran Turismo but it never did it for me. I prefer arcade racing games to driving sim type games. Also **** Crash Bandicoot. My aunt loves that game but I hated it so much. I never completed any of them.

I had that Goemon game on N64. I can't remember the name of it either. The only PS games I was into was RE, Tony Hawk Underground and Twisted Metal games. Mostly because I never owned the first PS. I had to go to my friend's house to play. It's so hard playing FF 7 in tiny installments.

OMFG Sims 2 was life even Sims 1 sunk so many hours into that game. So much so that when the online version of Sims came out. I jumped all over that. I've been playing Need for Speed games forever!

I guess watching somebody rage quite on arcade is funner.

If hipsters bring back the popularity of record players they can do it for Arcades. Actually they HAVE done it for arcades. There are these places called Barcade. I thought NYC was the only place it existed but there are supposedly more other places. Getting drunk and raging at someone in person is hilarious. Also that's what Dave and Buster's is for but so much better with a group of friends. You'd just have to actually learn to make friends before you go.

i think i was a little too young to really understand and enjoy the first sims, but i put countless of hours in the second one. i don't really play any racing games anymore but i know for a fact i could sit down and play through the entire story of a need for speed game at any times, pure arcade racing bliss.

Yep.

Pretty sure the Tony Hawk series (especially Underground) and the GTA series (especially San Andreas) in tandem completely manufactured my taste in music while growing up.

Other Locations | Barcade® | 388 Union Avenue, Brooklyn, New York 11211 | 718-302-6464

You gotta come up north for Barcade specifically.

DwnWthVwls 01-15-2017 12:28 PM

Is that a good version of dave and busters?

I've been to all of them except the New Haven and Newark ones. They're pretty f*cking great to say the least. Almost every single cabinet is only a quarter and the staff is usually awesome. There's this chick that works at the St. Marks one whose name I shall not disclose but every time I go there she's always awesome. The Philly one is in Fishtown which is a pretty great neighborhood if you're a hipster like me. Northern Liberties is a close walk from there too which is also pretty cool. The Brooklyn one is the one I frequent the most because it's next to my cousins place. It's the original. The beer is always interesting and there's not usually a wait for games unless you're there on a Fri/Sat night. It can get wild then. I waited an hour for Ms. Pacman once and only got two rounds in. They have high scores posted on the walls and they're impossible to beat so don't even try.

Barcade is sweet.
