Favorite game from the 90's

What's your favorite game from the 90's? Mine's Doom. Doom was released in 1993 and it's a friggin' good shooter.

20 Nintendo Games That Could Really Use A Reboot - TheRichest

Quote:

Quite possibly one of the best games ever made, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is one of the few games that I’ll put up here where I think the game needs another reboot. We did receive a 3D remake of this game back in 2011, and even back in 2003 we received the Master Quest edition. But it’s 2016, literally five years later, and instead of rebooting this game again, they’re making an entirely new game for the Wii U. While I am excited to see how Breath of the Wild does in relation to the other games in the series, they could easily release Ocarina of Time alongside it, and people would eat it up.
Quote:

You want to talk about one of the best platformers ever made for any system ever? Look no further. Banjo Kazooie falls into the category of being not only one of the most fun 3D platformers to date, but one of the best games on the Nintendo 64. While we did receive the sequel that is Banjo Tooie (and don’t get me wrong, that game is phenomenal), we haven’t really seen a full-fledged remake of Banjo Kazooie for any of the newer systems. Unfortunately, due to the original developers no longer being in business, the sole control of this title would be under Microsoft’s hands.
etc etc

YorkeDaddy 12-21-2016 04:36 PM

None of the Metroid games are hard lol

Mondo Bungle 12-21-2016 04:39 PM

Metroid Prime and the sequel are pretty hard

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 12-21-2016 04:40 PM

Mondo Bungle 12-21-2016 04:43 PM

I guess some people have never played an NES game.

Mondo Bungle 12-21-2016 05:01 PM

Now that I think about it, the sequel is where it's mad hard mainly. Metroid Prime isn't that bad

Thelonious Monkey 12-22-2016 11:28 PM

Awww ffs, Timesplitters doesn't even count.

djchameleon 12-23-2016 08:03 AM

Metroid Prime games don't count as true Metroid games. **** that FPS nonsense. :finger:

Golden Eye
Perfect Dark every though it technically came out in 2000.
Jet Force Gemini
Killer Instint.

YorkeDaddy 12-23-2016 08:12 AM

"**** fps games"

*lists multiple fps games*

djchameleon 12-23-2016 08:28 AM

Can you NOT read?

**** that FPS nonsense as in Metroid FPS games.

YorkeDaddy 12-23-2016 08:37 AM

Do you realize how little sense that makes

djchameleon 12-23-2016 08:42 AM

How does it not make sense?

You do know that Metroid wasn't always FPS right?

YorkeDaddy 12-23-2016 08:52 AM

1. You like FPS games
2. Metroid Prime is an excellent FPS game
3. Metroid Prime is also an excelent Metroid game, only really beaten by Super Metroid imo

Therefore it doesn't make any sense that you don't like Metroid Prime

1. I don't like FPS games, I make exceptions for Golden Eye, Perfect Dark and Duke Nukem that's it!
2. I wouldn't know since I only played the demo in Gamestop once and I completely hated it.
3. I don't take FPS Metroid games seriously and only stick to the classics when it comes to Metroid. Super Metroid, Metroid 2 and Metroid Fusion everything else is bunk.

YorkeDaddy 12-23-2016 09:16 AM

Your loss kiddo, Metroid Prime is like a 9/10 game from me

And many others considering it's 97/100 on metacritic

I often wonder what we did to convince other people that a game was good back in the age where online reviews weren't popular. Y'know, the good ol' days where we didn't give a **** if you liked it or not.

Split-screen (Goldeneye) and turn-based (Mario) multiplayer.

Ah the good ol' days of trusting the other person to not look at your screen to cheat. Good times indeed.

Reviews have always been popular, they were just in magazines instead. I have massive stacks of Nintendo Power and EGM at my parent's house

I more-so meant it in the same regard as game guides. You'd have to search for them, they weren't really as accessible. But I know where you're coming from.

**** that ****. If you can't deal with intelligence gathering then you don't deserve to win. The real test was trusting them not to unplug your controller.

I remember when I was younger I was playing Banjo Kazooie and I was on Click Clock Wood. I had about 90 notes and all the puzzle pieces and it would have been the first time I would have fully completed the level. Back then that level was tough to finish. My younger brother turned the system off before I could save and quit / finish the level.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 12-23-2016 12:50 PM

lol I remember the split screen days. every single time I lost a game it would be blamed on someone watching my side of the screen.

The Batlord 12-23-2016 12:55 PM

I remember around 2003/2004 finding out one of my classmates at military school also had an N64 with Goldeneye and having some hella nostalgic multiplayer matches where I'd bitch about him actually knowing how to use the remote mines as grenades. Was epic.

Key 12-23-2016 12:56 PM

You guys know that there is a server dedicated to online Goldeneye right? It's pretty active as well.
