Pretty sure Bakshi wins this x 100000.

If we're going by actual series, South Park still holds the torch pretty friggin high.

I am!

There's quite a bit I haven't seen, though. (including most of Futurama and Rick & Morty but I loved what little I saw of the latter)

And I'm pretty much pulling for Batman: The Animated Series against any show it comes up against.

Not only is it at least as hilarious as The Simpsons, but it's an actual brilliant sci-fi show to boot.

You guys need a reason to watch cartoons?

Well, if I were to do it, I'd have to think about categories. I was considering

Silent (as in, ones where the characters don't speak and there's only music - Pink Panther, Tom and Jerry, Felix etc)

Space/Science-Fiction themed (Futurama, Jetsons, Tripping the Rift etc)

Superheroes (Duh!)

Off-the-wall (Ren and Stimpy, Spongebob et al)

For want of a better phrase, sitcom cartoons? (Family Guy, Simpsons, Bob's Burgers, American Dad, South Park etc)

Anime would have to have its own cat obviously and I wouldn't be able to vote in that as I've only seen Akira and was kind of meh about it. Shut up.

I'm sure there are loads more. Anyone want to suggest categories?

I would call sitcom cartoons adult cartoons. I'm also a little apprehensive about adding an anime category, even though it is animated, I don't really think "cartoon" when I see that. But that's just me, I'd like to know what the bigger anime fans think.

And anime is really its own thing, with its own genres, its own tropes, and would require a whole slew of other categories or risk being reductive in the extreme. Nobody really thinks of anime as "cartoons" anyway. Cartoons are Western, anime is Japan.
