As long as the new film is in the hands of Denis Villeneuve, I think we should have nothing to worry about.

It's a film that I don't have an opinion on. It didn't excite or amaze be but it didn't muster any bad feelings either, it was just what it is.

In my opinion, it's Lynch's strangest film, moreso because it feels weird without a sort of conceptual explanation of being weird (it's easy to see what the purpose of the weirdness in Inland Empire for instance, is)

On the contrary, I wish more scifi movies where like this Dune adaption, scifi shouldn't be as "accessible" because it often ISN'T overall as relatable as we like to think.

Terrible movie.

Yeah there was one that Syfy made a couple of years back.

I was first introduced to the Dune universe through the Dune 2000 game on PC. I ended up watching the first movie years later but never delved into the books. I will someday. I love the universe so the movie didn't bother me.

Oops apparently there is a new adaption coming out soon. Just googled it.

Read the first book. It's fantastic. I've only read half of the second book but it was boring and lame as ****, and I haven't heard good things about any of the other ones either.

I never read any of the sequels or prequels (I think there were prequel books), but I never heard any positive opinions to them.

Just rewatched it, and I can honestly say that the hilariously over-the-top leader of the Harkonnen is easily the best part.
