I tried watching it a little while ago actually and liked it a bit at first but then lost all patience with that bridge building arc. All that **** with the kid and his step dad was terminally boring but I figured once they got to the action it would git gud but it was just terrible. The mirror fight looked like it was adapted straight from manga and did not at all translate well to animation and everyone else just standing around not helping for no ****ing reason except to make boring commentary that kept the scene moving at a snail's pace. At that point I felt dead inside from watching so much filler and I couldn't bring myself to keep going.

Naruto does have filler for days. I mean some of it's pretty tight, if you're into Naruto that is.
I give em props for going hella over the top sometimes, though. Next level epic combat right here

Dam bud, you quit before it got good. The 1st series gets better and shippuden gets way better. It pays off to stick with it from the beginning, by the time you reach the ninja war arc in shippuden you'll be glad you did. My fav shonen is Rurouni kenshin but i still think Naruto is objectively better.

When I say "I felt dead inside" and "I couldn't bring myself to keep going" I am not exaggerating. By the end I'd been forcing myself to keep watching the next episode for quite a few episodes and was completely drained of all happy chemicals in my brain. I ****ing hated Naruto on a personal level by the time I threw in the towel.

I just watched kung fu hustle again and now i want to watch more stephen chow films. I've only seen shaolin soccer and kung fu hustle but apparently he's made a bunch of films and even produced that shtshow Dragonball evolution.
