Default MB Video Game Classics: Pokemon X/Y

This is a bit of a tough one because even though the older games in the series are far better, Pokemon X/Y brings enough new stuff to the table to make it stand out. However, the biggest flaw it has to my knowledge is the fact that the game basically hands you the win. You get way too overpowered by the time you get to the Champion that it almost feels like just another normal trainer fight. Unfortunately that's to the games demise. However, I still think the game plays and looks amazing.

I wanted to also go ahead and mention that I think it's pretty awesome that I was able to keep the same Vaporeon that I evolved from Heart Gold / Soul Silver and carried it all the way to X / Y. I still have my copy of the game and that same Vaporeon.

I love Pokemon and have played every generation and will continue to for the rest of my life. However X/Y is just kind of forgettable to me. I definitely remember enjoying them, but I honestly don’t remember much of anything about the region or towns there. I can identify a good chunk of the Pokemon that were introduced but that’s about it. I’m going 3/5 and I would not call them classics. There’s been too many games in the series and these feel like some of the more phoned-in entries.

I feel much the same. I actually had a much more enjoyable time with Pokemon Black version. That story alone was really well told. X/Y were definitely more forgettable. I hardly remember a lot of what I did in my first playthrough because it went so fast.

I give it a 4/5 tho because I do still like the game. I thought it was a huge step in the right direction.
