Palace Music:
Viva Last Blues (1995)

I could probably say "written by Will Oldham, produced by Steve Albini" and leave it at that. It's kind of hard for me to explain how perfect this album is. It's very short but longer in it's necessary repetition. Oldham blends sex and death throughout the album in songs that are gentle, or violent, or loud, or drunk. I don't know man.

And now a song about Will Oldham that has nothing to do with Palace Music.

Wonderful review, Ethan (no surprise there). I don't have this album but you can bet your ass i'll get it soon!

That Williamsburg Will Oldham Horror track is quite the harrowing tale.

Jeffrey Lewis is pretty much my hero. He wrote a song thing for Urban:

This looks incredible. I'm going to get this ASAP.
Also, I liked the stuff with Jeffrey Lewis, what are some album suggestions for him?

you know i saw this the other day and i did a double take. what's a folk singer doing, working with a guy that bleeds noise and shit into everything he does? only Will Oldham could write a song about a blowjob and make it sound completely innocent.

consider me interested.
