And while you're drunk may I just wish you a Happy New Year, and hope 2014 is much better for you, as you certainly deserve it.

Danger, Danger! Shameless Self Promotion!

My band has officially released our first single. It's available for purchase or free download on bandcamp, for streaming on soundcloud and also right here:

I'd love to hear any feedback. We're currently recording our first full-length album and will be releasing single tracks on a monthly basis. Any donations made will go toward funding that project, but more importantly we just want to be heard!

Additionally, on our facebook page we advertised that we will make use of any artwork submitted to us by local (or independent) artists, so if any of you have a piece you'd like to PM me or send to snakewalkmusic@gmail.com that would be rad. We'll mostly be pairing the artwork with the singles we release, but if there's something we really enjoy we'll ask for permission to ultimately use it as our album cover (all due credit given). Thanks MB !

The vocals remind me of Cake. I'd compare the accompaniment to a Peter Gabriel arrangement. Good luck with your music certainly.

Ha, that's the second Cake comparison I've heard! I'll take it. Thanks for the encouragement, I'm really excited to share what we've been working on. The releasing-an-album-track-by-track angle we're taking is really fun. The next song we're putting out sounds nothing like this. VERSATILITY!

Well I'd hoped to be able to say I liked it Steph but sorry I just hated it. Not for me. Impressions would be a cross between Waits and Kraftwerk with some Gregorian style gongs or something thrown in? I realise your singer is singing that way deliberately but to me he's just talking, maybe rapping? Doesn't do anything for me. Very minimalistic, which is I guess how it's meant to be?

Wish you all the luck in the world though. Good to see you're following your dreams. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong and this will be really popular. You certainly deserve the notice and, more importantly, the money!

Hey it might not sound like it to you, O steamdriven one, but it's what immediately came to my mind. The little sort of tinkly xylophone-ish bits, the sort of serious, almost robotic vocal. Hey sue me; I don't know cake (other than eating it) so this is how the song sounds (and this is important) to me. May not evoke the same influences to others, but it's how it comes across to me.

Fair enough. But I can't resist a teachable moment.

This is Cake

This is WHY?

Now you know what we're talking about.
