Well Heavy Metal seems to be the most popular genre on this forum, so now that I've settled into middle age fogyism, I mind as well review my favourite albums by each of the big 4, starting with Anthrax.

Anthrax: To be honest there isn't really an Album I'm big on today, by all accounts I think Ian's S.O.D. side project was better than any of their albums, so I will just go with the one I remember most fondly.

Anthrax: The Persistence of Time

Time ** stars (not very good)
Blood **1/2 stars (Okay I guess)
Keep It in the Family **1/2 stars
In My World **1/2 stars
Gridlock ** uninspired
Intro to Reality **
Belly of the Beast **1/2
Got the Time **** (Classic!)
H8 Red ** to **1/2
One Man Stands **
Discharge **

Wow for one of their top rated albums that really licked! (the 4 star punk song aside) no wonder I never listen to them.

Not even love for "Belly of the Beast" or "H8"? That album tried going too complex for Anthrax, but it does have some gems.

Oh I'll give it another listen, but in general I just don't think Anthrax jives with my musical brainwaves anymore. I've already moved on to my next big 4 album, I'll post in a bit.

Slayer Reign in Blood

My third favourite of the three. I quite like Slayer, but I'm just not as fanatical about them as some of their fans, so no blasphemous salutes, just a quick review.

Angel Of Death 4 (Classic)
Piece By Piece 3 (Solid)
Necrophobic 3
Alter Of Sacrifice 3 (Solid)
Jesus Saves 4 (Classic)
Criminally insane 3
Reborn 2.5/3
Epidemic 2.5
Postmortem 2.5
Raining Blood 3.5 (Classic, but I always thought it was a little overrated)

The sheer aggression of this album is awesome.

Megadeth Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?

Dave Mustaine has done two notable things on planet earth, he helped write songs for the first Metallica album, and created this little gem.

Wake Up Dead 3.5/4 (Man this song is really underrated)
The Conjuring 4 (Wow! I forgot how talented Mustaine is)
Peace Sells 4 (The ultimate!)
Devil's Island 3 (Great opening riff)
Black Friday 3 (Solid)
Bad Omen 2.5/3
I Ain't Superstitious 2.5/3
My Last Words 2.5/3

Wow that was great, so much raw talent in that band, it almost makes me want to have a Mustaine orgasm....Here goes....Oh..oo...ah...Dave.....Musssss...ohhh ...taiiiiinnnne!

I was going to do Metallica's Kill em All, but I think I'll change gears, for some old school punk.

GBH's Discography

GBH - Leather,Bristles,Studs And Acne 1981 (12 inch)

Race Against Time 2.5
Knife Edge 2 to 2.5
Lycanthropy 2 to 2.5
Necrophilia 3 (Solid)
State Executioner 2 to 2.5
Dead On Arrival 2
Generals 3 (Solid)
Freak 2 to 2.5
Alcohol 2

Well too amaturish to be really enjoyable, but that's okay because the best is yet to come.
