Lucky girl's music journal.

Yesterday I listened to the music "Dancing in the Moonlight", I feel so good.
"Dancing in the Moonlight" is the title song on the 1973 King Harvest album Dancing in the Moonlight. The track was released as a single in 1972 and it reached No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band released other singles, but those were never able to match the success of "Dancing in the Moonlight". The track used a Wurlitzer electric piano throughout.

Welcome to Journaltown! :thumb:
Thought you were going to be writing about Thin Lizzy for a moment there... ;)

Big Big World

When I was a middle school student, I liked singing the music "Big Big World".
I felt the song so good. Today I searched this song in youtube, I found out it. When I was listening to this song, I remembered what had happened in my middle school. I can't turn back the clock and return to that period.

Lucky girl 11-10-2015 03:08 PM

I am listening to Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud". I feel the song so good, and Ed Sheeran's voice is just perfect !

Lucky girl 11-11-2015 03:53 PM

Today I listened to Demi's "Waitin for You". Demi’s album CONFIDENT available now!

Lucky girl 11-13-2015 05:15 PM

Today I listened to the song "A Whole New World". Nostalgia like this is wonderful. I miss the 90s. Memories.

How moved it is!

Yesterday I watched a music video, "God Treats Man as His Dearest One". How moved it is. This video demonstrates us the pictures of God's love and salvation. No matter how deeply mankind is corrupted by Satan, God still doesn't give up saving mankind. In the Age of Law, Lord God promulgated the Law and led mankind living on earth. In the Age of Grace, God was crucified on the cross and finished the redemptive work. Now God is incarnated to express words once again and save mankind from Satan's snares. God's love is true and actual.

DeadChannel 11-16-2015 12:51 AM

I feel like you're the same person as Baihe or whatever.

Judging by her words about 'God being incarnate again', I wouldn't be surprised if they at least belong to the same crazy 'Eastern Lightning' sect.

Trollheart 11-16-2015 10:21 AM

I have to say I got the same impression. Pretty poor journal all over really.

You know, what with being nailed to a cross, I'll bet he wasn't all that graceful at the time.

All I did was welcome her. Always good to see a new journal. But this almost makes Norg's a work of art. Just terrible. I hope she can improve, because I don't want to see one-line entries along the lines of "today I listened to [fill in blank]" every week.

If you're reading this, Lucky Girl, try to put some effort into your journal. It's just not worth it either, and nobody's gonna bother reading it.

Neapolitan 11-16-2015 07:02 PM

Cut her some slack guys, please. I don't know of any rule that says she can't write her journal as an actual journal. I think it's almost a given a journal is an album, review and Youtube videos. And when someone comes along and does it differently they are shown a yellow card (soccer reference). So far I like the old school approach like "Random thoughts/ Journal" by Unrelenting. Sometimes things need time to grow (gardening reference), you can't expect her to hit a grand slam her first time up at bat (baseball reference) just so you can be awed by it for your own amusement. I think we should be encouraging in a more positive way in the advice we give, than offering negative feedback.

Trollheart 11-16-2015 07:21 PM

If she doesn't get criticism she'll never learn. But come on, really: this is no journal, it's just a random collection of thoughts. She hasn't even tried to talk about any of the music she's writing about. Sure, it's her journal and she can do it as she wishes, but she's not going to amass many views this way, other than people just checking in out of curiosity or to, you know, laugh at her. I know there are no real rules, but surely if you write stuff you want people to read it, and feedback (positive or negative) is the only way you get to know what people think.

Neapolitan 11-16-2015 08:02 PM

Well, I watched the videos for Dancing in the Moonlight and A Whole New World. I thought the journal started off decently with a 70s' track. I mistakenly thought it was a Van Morrison song, not unlike Trollheart who mistakenly thought it was Thin Lizzy. I like the tidbit about how they used Wurlitzer electric piano in the song. I would just wrongfully assumed it was a Fender Rhodes electric piano.

I am not much into Disney movies. The last few really good ones were The Black Hole released in 1979, and Tron released in 1982. I think they slowly went downhill afterwards. I read the Youtube replies to A Whole New World, just to see what people had to say about it. I saw that Discorded Brony wrote "I'm not gay but I'd totally seduce Aladdin if that means I can ride his magic carpet... I'm aware of how bad that sounded." I immediately thought this guy must be The Batlord.

@ The Batlord is "Discorded Brony" your YouTube username?

The fact that she's here to proselytize, combined with the fact that she probably has at least one alt account makes me not be very forgiving.

I was trying to insinuate that I was finger quoting the world reviews, because they're not really reviews. I guess **** like that rarely comes across over the internet, though. My bad.

I got what you were implying right away. Nea is just an idiot.

Trollheart 11-17-2015 12:11 PM

I think the main problem we have with her is that it seems this began as supposedly a journal, she put very little work into her "reviews" (quotes definitely required) but THEN made a pretty long (in comparison) entry about God and her religion, which really then betrays her true intent, it would seem, in making this journal, which is to preach at us.

Nobody likes that, and that's not what the journal section is for. If she wants to argue for or against the existence or merits of God, any god, go to the Religious and Current Affairs subforum and set your pulpit up there. Nobody's going to want to read this journal to get your take on how wonderful God is, if she exists.

That's what I got a problem with!
What I think he meant to say was, that is a thing, with which he has a problem!--- Dr. Frasier Crane.

Grammar myths #1: is it wrong to end a sentence with a preposition? | OxfordWords blog

Quote:

The word ‘preposition’ ultimately derives from Latin prae ‘before’ and ponere ’to place’. In Latin grammar, the rule is that a preposition should always precede the prepositional object that it is linked with: it is never placed after it. According to a number of other authorities, it was the dramatist John Dryden in 1672 who was the first person to criticize a piece of English writing (by Ben Jonson) for placing a preposition at the end of a clause instead of before the noun or pronoun to which it was linked.

This prohibition was taken up by grammarians and teachers in the next two centuries and became very tenacious. English is not Latin, however, and contemporary authorities do not try to shoehorn it into the Latin model. Nevertheless, many people are still taught that ending a sentence or clause with a preposition should be avoided.

Trollheart 11-17-2015 05:51 PM

It's a quote, dumbass! Frasier corrects a guy on his grammar (something like the guy says "My mom literally hangs around the house all day") and he says "Oh dear, I have a little problem with people who use words incorrectly. You see, she can't literally hang, unless she's a bat!" whereupon he says "You know what I got a problem with? High and mighty college boys who pick holes in my grammar! That's what I got a problem with!" To which Frasier then quotes that bit, making it obvious he's a) even more of a snob than the guy believes and b) wasn't really listening to him, despite being a shrink.

The fact that you attributed it to "Dr. Frasier Craine" kind of gave that away. But I'll take any opportunity to correct that particular grammar myth (along with the one that says that you can't begin a sentence with a conjunction).

Once again I am confused, what do you mean you are quoting "world reviews"?

Anyway everyone except Ki (who acts like a Negative Nancy on daily basis) got me thinking 'is that her actual "review" or did she lift it from somewhereselse on the interwebz?' Anyhow that thought got my Spider senses tingleling and I thought I'll copy/paste a segment of her "review" and what I found out was that unless she is the original author of the Wikipedia entry for Dancing in the Moonlight, she flat out just copied and pasted her "reveiw" from Wikipedia. Which is a "no-no" according to forum rules, members can not pass other people stuff off as their own. I don't know if she did it deliberately, I mean she could been unaware of using quotes when she did that. But still, now that I know that I feel a bit let down by that "review," it seems like a total lack of effort on her part.

I wonder how long she will keep up with the charades with her copy/paste "reviews." Well at least she had a nice warm welcome before she was found out:

How Important God’s Love for Man Is.

Today I watched a music video, and I pretty like it. I'd like to share it with everyone. This video demonstrates us the touching and warm pictures of Adam and Eve living a carefree life in Garden of Eden under the protection and blessing of God, and God's chosen people of the Age of Kingdom living with God's word. Among these pictures, I feel how happy for man living under the protection and blessing of God is. From God's first expectation for mankind, I feel God's love and meanwhile how important obeying God's word is. Though mankind was tempted and corrupted by Satan, God still didn't give up the salvation of mankind. God is incarnated into flesh to express words once again and save mankind from Satan's snares.
