And it's gotten a hell of a lot worse since 2006. Don't know how much you know about the modern scene but in prepneck central here in upperclass NC it's so overplayed, especially with leading pop country station WQDR 94.7 being here. "Bro-country" is the new term being thrown around to describe the scene, and it's about what you'd expect from the name lyrically. Musically (oh no, oh no), it's one part Lil' Wayne, one part Bon Jovi, with banjo and fiddle sound effects and a drawling accent going on about false southern pride (read: being an upper middle class "redneck"), objectifying women, drinking, partying, etc.

Kill me.

That, and Darius Rucker's cover of Wagon Wheel gets all the radio airplay and that's all my parents listen to.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

My theory as to why mainstream country has gotten so big over the past decade is because mainstream rock kinda sorta died, leaving all the rednecks to choose between bad country and bad hip hop.

Unfortunately, that's still in pop-country territory. What I'm saying is that Bro-country has actual pop rap and radio rock influence.

And people listen to this ****.

Where was the pop rap? Buncha gangsta stereotypes in the video, and I was expecting some cringeworthy rap verse after the second chorus, but all they did was go to a hoedown for no apparent reason.
