The rulebooki specified media as being passable.

Frankly, I don't know why I thought it was against the rules. I mean Frown has a Journal dedicated to debunking bulshit. I knew it wasn't against the rules, this thread was originally meant to be whatever I felt like talking about, not just music.

Although to be perfectly honest I have no idea what the rules are in the journal section. I guess we just don't care.

Bruno Sammartino:

The year is 1963. Buddy Rogers is the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. The NWA committee has their annual meeting in Las Vegas and decides to have Buddy Rogers drop the title. The northeast territories (Vince McMahon Sr. and Toots Mondt) are displeased with this and decide to not officially recognize the title loss. The WWWF is formed and Buddy Rogers is recognized as the first ever WWWF World Heavyweight Champion. 22 days later Rogers loses the championship to Bruno Sammartino in 48 seconds.

There are two different stories as to why that happened. Rogers claimed he had a heart attack earlier in the day and was given a shorter match as well as a loss so he could take some needed time off. Sammartino claims that Rogers was a territory killer, that's why he had the title taken off him by the NWA and that's why the WWWF had the title taken off him that night.

Rogers loss would give way to one of the most incredible things in wrestling that has yet to be outdone and will most likely never be outdone, Sammartino would carry the title for 2,803 days. Or 8 years. He would eventually win the title back for another 3 years. Sammartino also holds the record for selling out Madison Square Garden more time than any other person in history. He headlined it 211 times and it sold out 187 times.

John Cena

John Cena is one of the wrestlers that I think people unfairly gets negative reception. People complain his in ring work is not very good. Watch his matches with Shawn Michaels, CM Punk, and Daniel Bryan. Cena's in ring work is massively underrated and his mic work is one of the best part of WWE. When I was younger, I was a John Cena fanboy. Now I'm older and still think Cena is one of the best parts of WWE programming.

he definitely doesn't get enough credit. he can put on great matches when he's with other great talents, and solid enough matches with just about anyone else. not sure what will happen when he eventually steps down.

Put this image in your head real quick: “Announcing the 2020 President-elect…AND HIS NAME IS JOHN CENA! (dun dun dun dunnn)”. If that alone doesn’t give you enough reason to write in John Cena for president in 2020, I don’t know what will. While John Cena may be one of the most favorable and hilarious memes that has ever graced the internet, he’s also one of the most kind-hearted individuals that would also be a perfect fit in the White House. Much like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the entire world would instantly be thrown into a worldwide wrestling match for the “best country on Earth” title. Of course, I can certainly understand the issues that would come with this. I mean, when the conventions come around, or even the primaries, the room will be filled with the golden meme John Cena is known for. He’d run out to the podium in nothing but his cargo shorts. Actually, when I put it that way, John Cena would be the perfect fit. #cenaforpres2020.

The only rule I've seen about journals says this exactly: "Your journal is a thread that belongs to you and you decide what it's about."

That pretty much leaves it open to anything. Urban was often annoyed that people just did reviews in their journals. I think he would approve that many of us have stepped outside the box.

For me, I think whatever you write about, as long as you write about it articulately, passionately and know what you're talking about, and as long as it interests people, you should be allowed write about anything really. I dare to think that in my case I've proven I can write about various media (music, film, TV, comics etc) so it should be ok that I stretch myself and try to write about other things.

I think it's healthy, certainly for the journal section as a whole, and also for people, when they don't feel restricted by too many rules. Yes Batty I am aware of the irony of Trollheart talking about less rules, but you get where I'm coming from.

I'd also say that Ki has reacted to his initial criticism of my journal about Ireland very well, in creating a journal of his own that has already got people talking and which appears to be helping him, so well done for that.

When he steps down, we'll have Roman Reigns. Which could be worse. He puts on solid matches with decent enough wrestlers and great matches with great wrestlers. I would prefer they give it to KO though. He's like a modern Steve Austin.
