This is about you, and when you say you're going to do something to please a family member that seeming obligation can sometimes do more harm than good if you don't feel that you can meet it. Stress based on making family happy can be even more destructive than the help that they're providing in good faith.
Oh I know. I'm not doing anything until I'm 150% sure it's what I want for me. I haven't made any obligations to anything and that's partly why I'm waiting till the new year to decide anything. Therapy may not even happen, but I do still want to make a plan that will help me get through 2017 on the right foot. That for me personally is the best thing I can do.

Most of all, I wish you well and the best of luck.
Thank you! This is wonderful advice and something I've heard a few times. I want someone that I can look at and feel a connection. Not just feel like I'm talking to a brick wall.

I know nothing of therapy but wish you all the best. I hope it works out for you, Ki, or at least gives you a different, ie better perspective on what you've been through and what you have to look forward to. Don't be afraid to be honest; someone like that can only help you if you tell them the truth. Here's hoping 2017 will be much better for you.

Work

Alongside working for TheRichest (though it'll be more secondary) I've also taken a job as a freelance writer for Guff.com. The first reaction people will have is "really? you're writing more clickbait?" Yeah, but you know what? I honestly don't give a ****. Money is money right? I'd rather be making good money doing this instead of going out at 6am every day and working a job that I absolutely hate. So what if I am writing clickbait, it pays the bills and this job in particular is going to allow me to get back into business in regards to making a living and pushing forward. I'm doing whatever I have to do to get by, and honestly...I'm a writer at heart so if this is the way I can start to tackle that, I'm going to do it.

Anyway, I wrote my first official "article" for them this morning and I'm waiting for it to go live. I'm excited and I sincerely hope that people that give a **** about me are also excited and hold judgement because honestly...the judgement doesn't effect whether or not I continue doing this. You can rag on me all you want for doing a job that requires "clickbaity" agenda, but I'm happy. I love the job I have and I can enjoy it. That's what life is all about.

i would argue that like a good 70% of mainstream media is clickbait now anyway so there's nothing wrong with writing for Guff or The Richest. best of luck with them going forward my dude.

Who cares if you're writing click bait? The rest of us should be so lucky to get paid to stay in our pajamas and write fluff. That's a ****ing dream job and anyone who says otherwise is just jealous because their job involves asking whether people want fries with that.

Besides, click bait is about the only reading most people actively engage in anyway. In that sense, you'll probably contribute more to the modern person's life than Hawethorne or Thoreau combined.* You're not hurting anyone and you don't have to deal with all the **** that comes with working customer service. Hang your hat on that and tell the haters to go **** themselves.

For the record, I considered "clickbait" to be a factual description of the work you were doing, not any sort of derogatory name for entertainment writing or something.
